As successful as it's being for me as a customer, yesterday I've ordered 5 things to go. The attitude of these people are not like this as before, but, the way it is happening right now is that I've ordered a pound of Chicharron, a pound of Pernil, a whole baked chicken, 3 pastelitos, and a order of Monfongo with pernil. And I asked this lady who is a Dominican national who worked as a caterer/cashier, about the total of all 5 of them, and I gave her 3 of the $20 USD bills in case if I get charged a little bit more than $40 USD, and she gave me the total cost of food, and all of the sudden, she only gave me back 35 cents change instead of me getting my $20 USD back. It's like that I've accidentally gave her the 3rd $20 USD bill, although it was almost $40 USD altogether. NOW, I've realized what this is been going on in between the caterer/cashier and me as a paying customer. She didn't even count these bills correctly, is like that she's been stealing from me blatantly, and I talk to this male caterer/cashier and he said "oh, the only person that you have being dealt with is this lady" I've said to him "of course, I've dealt with her, my question is that have you talk to her about that?" The other male caterer who is a little bit younger, witnessed this female cashier/caterer about my loss telling me that "oh, you gave her only 2 $20 USD bills, that's all you gave her, and that can be saught by cameras". I told him very clearly, that I've been honest with him people that I've accidentally gave her 3 $20 USD, and she didn't count them carefully. What are they thinking????? That I'm crazy, and stupid, and theatening to assault them, or extort them??? I've been waiting for almost an hour for my order and she gave them to me, as I got home, then I checked and something is missing from here. An order of Chicharron is missing. Obviously, that she didn't add an order of Chicharron in the same bag as the rest of these orders are in there. THESE PEOPLE ARE BLATANT THIEVES, ALTHOUGH, THE FOOD IS GOOD, BUT DON'T TRUST THESE PEOPLE OVER THERE IN NUEVO BOHIO TROPICAL, THEY'RE NUTS.... Read moreI am a regular customer at El Nuevo Bohio Tropical. The food is working class Hispanic/Caribbean classics. My favorite menu item is the Morcilla or blood sausage. Today I entered the restaurant and walked up to the counter and was greeted by 3 servers. One was male and the other two attendants, female. They all speak Spanish as do I. However, I usually order in English since they understand it and I feel more comfortable. Upon asking the male server for the Morcilla the female attendant beside him burst into a fit of laughter. Morcilla is a sausage, so by default, it falls victim to dick jokes. I got the joke... I --- a male, asked another male for sausage. It's a pretty straight forward joke and a very juvenile one. Her outburst of laughter was so boisterous it made the other staff members snicker in a slightly nervous tone. A second later they returned their stare to my face. I was expressionless."Get my food" "Do your job" is what my inner voice was saying. I was slightly embarrassed since no male wants to ask another man for a phallic looking food item, it is always uncomfortable. The staff saw I was not amused. I told them that I understood what the laughter was about and that I speak Spanish since they continued to snicker. Then the pandering began. They told me they were joking about something so far removed I recognized it immediately as a lie . Even if their sophomoric behavior wasn't directed toward me, bursting into a laughing fit in front guests is a major customer service don't. I called for an order and when I called back an hour later the women name Sanjela told me my order was on its way I said ok, then I waited another 45 mins and called back told them I’m still waiting for an order I placed an hour and 45 mins ago she tells me to hold because she’s busy , she answered 3 mins later and tells me I’m going to call the driver I tell her ok, she then answers me 2mins after and tells me do you still want your order because we never put your order Through, after waiting all this time for my order that was never placed , I them ask to speak to a manager, he knew what was going on I ask him for the inconvenience of your service will you do something for me he tells me “No, it’s either you want the order or not” VERY GREAT SERVICE AFTER WAITING 2 HOURS FOR AN ORDER THAT WAS NEVER PLACED. On top of all that you have the nerve to be rude and have an attitude, every one needs to be trained and if you can’t handle a busy place and be professional then the job it’s not for you.
