I finally decided to give this place a try. Came in on a Sunday night. The restaurant itself is a small spot. There are a few tables set up to dine in. Most customers came in order and took their food to go. When I came in, most of the food trays were empty. Customers were waiting on fresh chicken, fries, and tostones to be made.
I ordered the 16-piece chicken combo, which comes with a side choice of tostones, French fries, or rice. I ordered mine with tostones. I ordered their tres leche cakes. I ordered the guayaba, nutella and dulce de leche tres leche cakes. I ordered a sancocho soup and a strawberry lemonade juice.
Staff here are friendly and welcoming. The chicken was delicious. The skin was crispy, and the meat was seasoned very well. Very flavorful chicken. The tostones were good, I liked that they weren't too big. The sancocho was delicious! The strawberry lemonade was really good..You can taste the freshness and the pieces of the fresh strawberries. The tres leche cakes were really good. My favorite flavor was the guayaba one. It was delicious.
Overall the food I ordered was good, nice and fresh. It makes you feel like you just stepped in the Dominican Republic real quick. I would definitely come back to try some other foods on their menu. There is nothing fancy here. The main focus is the food. So, if you are looking for an upscale place, this is not the spot. However, if you're looking for a quick bite to eat with flavorful food, then this is the spot. The location is not in the best neighborhood of Brooklyn, but you forget all of that once you try their pica pollo. It was worth the long ride here. I would definitely be...
Read moreI suppose I need to give this place a break. Customer service isn’t consistent enough for me. I loved the chicken which made me a consistent customer. However, today the chicken was dry and it seemed as though I was deliberately given the driest pieces. I was also overcharged. The 5 piece with either fries or tostones is $18 according to the posted menu prices. I ordered a large WHITE rice only with beans on the side and TWO cans of soda priced at $1(unless it went up overnight). I was charged $38! How?!? U mean to tell me that white rice that wasn’t even filled up and two sodas cost $20. I asked for the sauce that comes with the chicken… I was told “we don’t have any”. How? When you have only been open for an hour. Do businesses actually like making money? I’m not sure because satisfied customers...
Read moreI decided to give this place a second chance and it was worth it 100%, I was passing by and saw only 2 people there so decided to go in and give it a try, when I tell you I felt like I was back home for a moment, the chicken was fresh and good looking this time and it made me reconsider and that's the best thing I ever did, I have never changed a review from bad to good but this was a must. To give you an idea, I'm not a bone chewer I'm more of a breast person, and somehow I ended up chewing bones lol, when I remembered to take a picture it was too late, I was...
