The service here is Terrible. I have worked in the service industry for many years and have never seen employees act this way. I’ve gotten much better service from street vendors, fast food restaurants and even in mon repos market where they don’t play to cuss yuh😂 I visited this weekend and upon walking in we asked for a booth since the restaurant was empty and only one booth was occupied. We were told that it was reserved so we proceeded to a table. As soon as we picked up the menu Gail came n stood in front of us asking us what we wanted. Not even giving us a second. My partner asked for waters to which she brought a single glass for him only. He gave it to me and waited for her to return to ask for another to which she gave him an annoyed look. We ordered drinks and had to walk over to the bar because she didn’t know of the drink we wanted. Got our drinks and food which was mediocre at best and the needed to walk over to the bar anytime we needed something. We got tired of her terrible attitude and decided to get some food to go. She never came over to take our order although the restaurant was empty at this point. Once again we made our way over to the bar, got beers this time and needed to walk to the front of the restaurant to order food. When the bill came everything was overcharged compared to the menu. (Plantains we’re $4.99 but we were charged 6.99/ shark $10.99 and we were charged 12/13.99 (I don’t care about the few dollars it’s the principle) We asked about the price difference to which she said “yeah” yeah what? Asked again and she said “yeah is not the same price”. I was fully aware and was looking for an explanation at this point but once again she walked away. On top of it she added 18% gratuity. The TOGO food then took 45 mins to come out and it was just sitting there until we walked over and asked for it while trying to leave. Do not do it. It’ll spoil your dining experience. Go...
Read moreDon’t ever eat here. Upon entrance (6pm on a Friday evening) there was no one to greet or welcome us into the restaurant. The hostess/servers completely ignored us so we walked in and sat at an empty table. It took about 15 mins for someone to speak to us, the waiter was friendly but super busy so he couldn’t attend to us right away (although the restaurant was empty) the lounge upstairs had people so he was running up and down confused. We then order corn soup, which was eh … not bad but not good, I’ve tasted better around Queens. The vegetarian spring rolls were good, very large but tasty. The Vegetarian Fried rice was absolutely horrible, rice was hard, vegetables weren’t cooked and was overall nasty. The Vegetarian Lo Mein, was cold inside and just steam from the top, which has me thinking they just put it in the microwave (now that I sit and think about it) … and I felt so sick afterwards and even the next day I felt like I had food poisoning … they also included an 18% tip w/o saying anything or telling us that. I won’t ever eat from this place, avoid at all...
Read morePlease be aware this rating is very generous only because I order to take out only. My family has gone there in the past 18 yrs+. I honestly felt the environment was better when the restaurant was smaller down on RockAway blvd & 106th st.
However when they moved to the location on Lefferts blvd and 133ave~. It was also okay but one evening boyfriend and was there this yrs ago i actually found a roach in my appetizer plate.
Took me a while to eat from there again , since the mantra & shipwreck merge I only order to go and very selective. The management is not interested in upgrading with the times and not consistent. Just in past 2 weeks so sign about Bank of America and Discover card. I spoke to the older man who has been there he took my debit card payment. No problems today attempted to pay as normal and the worker explain that if the 2 senior workers aren’t there he could not payment.
I appreciate his tip but I hate when management do not use proper channels to change there policies it makes it less desirable...
