I stopped in here one Monday evening to check them out because they were newly opened. The walls are plastered with photos, maps, and other images that reflect Guyana and Guyanese culture at large. The little lanterns over the seating areas are really cute. The server was very friendly and answered any questions that I had. I wasn’t sure if they were doing dine-in service so I asked if I could sit and wait before leaving. She told me that was absolutely fine and offered me a complimentary caramel. I bought a mixed Chinese fried rice that was absolutely delicious. It had a smidge too much of sesame oil but otherwise it was great. I normally bake sponge cake but this restaurant had one of the best sponge cakes that I’ve ever eaten. It was so moist and flavorful! They have a lot of menu items that you typically wouldn’t find at other Guyanese restaurants but you certainly would find in a Guyanese home. The prices were also reasonable! I will definitely return here again if I’m ever...
Read moreIt’s obvious this place is a very well run restaurant. They are new, but looks like they have very high standards when it comes to serving food, and looks like they plan to be in business for the long run. The two main things they have well covered, #1 it’s very clean and #2 the food is very good quality and taste. It was 3 pm when I went there and it was so clean, it looked like they just opened. We took a chance ordering food for our daughter’s birthday party on my mother’s recommendation, because prior to that we didn’t have food from there. The food was very good, I don’t see myself ordering West Indian food from anywhere else going forward. They also have a surprising variety of menu items. Pepper pot was good, fried rice, chow mein, lamb and pepper shrimp, all excellent. The servers were polite, friendly and helpful. Can’t ask for more from a restaurant. They are new, but I hope they maintain this high level of service, because I’d like to see them succeed. Highly...
