My most recent experience here was an absolute embarrassment. I ordered a half cheese half pepperoni pizza and it was like a soup of grease and sauce. The cheese was a nasty mealy consistency I was starving so I managed to eat one piece it was disgusting and shortly after I felt sick to my stomach. The crust had an off taste and smell like it was a week old and the pepperoni side was inedible because you could not pick due to the amount of grease on it. I would have taken a picture but I threw it out immediately after feeling ill. I am very disappointed and confused on who in their right mind would let a pizza like this leave the kitchen let alone serve to a customer that tips and was polite, Is there no shame? Disgrace. There no excuses and I understand places have off days but serving a pizza that was basically of a grease soup with mealy cheese and old dough for me to then get sick is unacceptable. They lost a customer and I will be advising anyone to stay away, the pictures you see on the other reviews are old pictures and not actually what you...
Read moreA friend and I were on our way to Zabars when we stopped in here for a quick bite. I didn't want to because all pizza places are the same to me. They all lack flavor, they're all overrated and they all put up these pictures on the wall with celebrities like that makes them credible when it doesn't.
Freddie & Pepper's APPEARS that way but they actually have the slices to back up their argument. Maaaaaaaaan let me tell you this was some good pizza. The first bite like I had an entire meal on my plate. Geez that was a lot of flavor! I ordered a Chipotle chicken slice because I needed something spicy with some meat on it. I can't remember the first choice I wanted but it had bacon on it and I don't eat pork so it was the winner winner chicken dinner slice instead. It's very small and seats about 6-8 people with no standing room (which I prefer and like) and they do have a restroom. So they're pretty much winning on all sides. Oh yeah and they're way better than Joe's Pizza. I give it 4 out of 5 stars for not having as many pork free meat options to...
Read moreReally, really bad. Like…65 dollars for the collective worst pizza, pasta, and salad in New York I’ve had, bad.
Went here for slices frequently pre-pandemic, and something changed. The pizza was chewy to the point of feeling difficult to eat and its cheese was coagulated. The mixed-green salad was basically a tin of lettuces from a supermarket. And the pasta was so poorly prepared that one bite was enough to never want another.
I called back to try and tip toe around addressing these problems (as best I can remember, this is the first time I’ve done that to a restaurant) and was offered a $10 credit in response. Lol nah, I’m good.
There are dozens more pizza places on the UWS, many charging less than $65 dollars (!) for a meal. I’ll be going to literally any other...
