The restaurant was highly recommended by a friend who lives near by. We were not disappointed. Thought the place is small and lacks decor, the quality of the food and the friendly owners make up for it. There were 10 of us and we filled up 90% of the seating, the place can seat up to 14. The shop owner is also the sushi chef, and his wife helps w the kitchen. The food did took a while to come since the owner and his wife were the only ones at the shop. But trust me it’s worth it. Every dish tasted fresh and well prepared. We had yellowtail special and sushi for 2, The raw fish was fresh, and just the right proportion of rice to fish. We also had the eel roll that was just as good. The pork chop egg over rice was over flown w meat, teriyaki chicken on sizzle platter was a good follow up to the sushi. The chef gave us a free tasting of his sushi creations, it’s cucumber roll with various filling, delicious!!! A definite gem tucked away, most try if you are in the neighborhoodz

Tried Ganda’s on a whim because I was nearby and craving a good unagi roll. I checked out their menu and saw they had platters and decided to get one. I got an 80-piece assorted roll platter that cost $50 ($54 with taxes). They prepared it rather quickly and it was ready for pick up within 20 minutes I believe. They gave a decent amount of ginger and soy sauce dipping cups. The owner was waiting for me when I got there and helped me out the door with my order. She was so warm and welcoming. So that’s the service. The rolls? AMAZING! Everything was so fresh and delicious. In retrospect, 80 rolls was a LOT, lol, but I had it for about 5 meals! The unagi roll was delish with the sauce and I particularly enjoyed the lil zing of the spicy tuna rolls. I’m definitely coming back here to get more rolls and try everything else!

This place is literally the best place to eat sushi in entire New York. The place is small, but it’s a gem! It’s clean, food is amazing, quality packaging, all the accessories they provide are high quality. The staff is kind and welcoming on the phone and in person, very friendly with kids. They mention to you if they have any promotions. Support this business ❤️

So I want to start off by saying I've been a frequent customer of Gan Da Sushi over the years. Living right in the neighborhood, I love to support local businesses, being a business owner myself. On the Evening of April 26th, I called my wife and said hey, I passed our sushi spot and they're open(Consider the pandemic at the time)! She said let's go. Well that excitement was short lived. We drove down the blocked, walked in and proceeded to the counter. At the time, the chef was the only one visible. Before I was able to thank him for being one of the only sushi businesses open, he said.. "Oh you want to order, sorry TWO hour wait!". My goodness, Hello would of been nice.. smh. I Usually deal with the Lady or I think the son, that knows my order and even knows I dont want any sauce on my spicy salmon and like Extra Soy Sauce with my order.. This was such a Turn Off! Ok I get it, you decided to open and your Online SALES were Booming.. But Always remember your Customers who held you down when things were business as usual. And those days will return. The days you thanked me for ordering all those Salmon Pieces and Please Come Again. Well Gan Da Sushi Management/Owner, you've lost this Customer. I'll Gladly hop in my car and drive down the Grand Central and patronize the lovely sushi spots in Forest Hills. Matter of fact, if anyone is looking for a great sushi location. It's called Sushi 33, 63-56 Booth St, Rego Park NY. The lady's in there are so nice and the chef as well. Prices are great! Please...

DONT DO IT!!!

The previous owners (husband wife and 2 daughters ) are no longer there. Its changed owners twice and the service is lousy. Plus its always empty now verses being busy in the past. I ordered a lunch special with extra ginger. The rude chic that answered the phone a4gyed with me that ginger doesn't come with it. I told her i just ordered the same thing about 2 months ago and thr was ginger in the box. So this idiot decided not to intertain the fact that it was put in my box by error and instead decided to aggresively tell me it never comes that way. Mind you i purchased the same lunch special recently and GINGER was in my box while with other friends.......witnesses. I even said i would pay for the extra but she just wouldn't let it go. Thats what greeted me when i walked in, not hello how are you instead i was greeted with "you order lunch special" it never comes with ginger and she said it sooo aggresively and just kept repeating it.

NOT WORTH IT!! BRING BACK THE PREVIOUS OWNERS. This used to be the best hole in the wall place for sushi NOT ANYM ORE. Incase you're wondering i told the rude one to eat it herself. The 1 star was generous considering the bathroom is in...
