Most HORRIBLE Service ever. Everyone writing these reviews is either friends with the owner or their family. If you want a non-biased review from an actual customer, here it is.

Security: sloppy looking guy standing in the front to analyze everyone’s drivers license quality. He was not scanning IDs with a flashlight how proper security staff would…His only concern is if you’re 21 or above which we all were. But Instead he was giving us trouble - trying to match our faces, making weird faces, arguing about having an updated license.

Service: We ordered food and hookah upon arrival, the wait was over 25 minutes. Another party of girls arrived after us and received their food and hookah BEFORE US. When we asked where is our food, the response was it’s coming. But in reality they forgot and the staff looked panicked. NO one was writing the order down and we were a group of 7 people. SO UNPROFESSIONAL!

HOOKAH: Tasted burnt, not fresh at all. They give out peoples used hookahs to preserve their flavor. The flow was not there at all. We had very professional and experienced hookah smokers in the group. The old coal and ash combo was smelling burnt and hitting our throats. The pull was so rough not smooth at all. When we asked for them to fix it, the staff said that’s just how it is and we can’t change it now.

Closing Time: finally after receiving our food 25 minutes later. It was 1:25am. We were assuming we had till 2am because that’s the close time. The staff came and asked for our plates which still had food on them TWO TIMES. they were rushing us to finish our food at a damn hookah lounge. First the blonde waitress came to ask, then another guy. I felt so disturbed - I am paying for this food. Why is it being snatched within 15-20 minutes???? At 1:48am - literally 12 minutes before closing. The hookah was snatched. NO WARNING. The professional way would be say “hey guys 5 more minutes wrap it up - we are closing.” Straight took the hookahs that were FULL away from us whilst we were smoking. When we walked out, EVERYONE WAS STILL SITTING. There was groups of men sitting outside, big groups inside, the girls were till sitting with their hookah. BUT OUR HOOKAH WAS TAKEN? Just because we weren’t friends with the owners of staff? Just because we made the mistake of coming to you all the way from Jersey 60 miles away? I WOULD NEVER...

Verdict: this is, in my opinion, NY's premiere hookah lounge

How I came to my decision: I have been attending Junooon lounge for quite some time now and I think this is my top choice in hookah spots in all of NY. Having the pleasure of enjoying many different choices, junooon has remained consistent throughout and I've finally gotten around to giving it a review it deserves. First, the location is absolutely amazing. It's close off the grand central parkway, in a neighborhood that is both safe and has AMPLE street parking both paid and unpaid. Meters expire at 7 around this neighborhood. Second, the staff of junooon is amazing. This is a family owned lounge and these brothers are all humble and wonderful human beings. They treat everyone with respect and courtesy and really take care of you at the lounge. There have been occasions where they've just given us things on the house or changed things for free just for being patrons as a thank you. It's really appreciated that they take time to know their customers and they remember you and your order if you frequent them often. Third, the lounge always has wonderful decor. They open at 2 p.m every day and during their happy hour, it's always nice and bright inside, music is not loud so you can go there to do some work, play some chess (as I do) or watch some football and easily hold conversations. At night, they set the mood with a DJ and make the environment a bit more lively. Forth, and most importantly, junooon has never provided me with questionable hookah. The quality of their hookah, the preparation and the longevity have been so consistent, it has become my benchmark of quality when I visit new lounges to try their hookah. Overall, this lounge is a 5 star and a must go lounge for people who enjoy quality in their smoking session.

Absolutely terrible customer service

Went here, yesterday 10/23 at approximately 8:30 pm with my family to grab a bite to eat and to smoke some hookah. We walked in and was seated and ordered.

The server Ricky came over to us and demanded that we moved our seat, because he had friends coming in with a large party and needed our table. I mentioned to him that our party would not be moving and we were comfortable and already ordered. He still then STILL demanded that he move us to another table. He had no understanding, lacked proper customer service skills, and was very unprofessional with the way he was speaking to us.

For the remainder of the night, everyone that was in the lounge, coals were being changed and we noticed that our table was constantly being skipped.

This was a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Please go somewhere that will value you as a customer and act professionally towards you. I would not recommend this hookah lounge due to the horrible experience and the bad treatment that was received from this server.
