I always liked this bar when it was Mike's Pub, but when long-time bartender Geordie bought the place and turned it into "Geordie's Joint", I became a lifetime loyal patron! Yes, Geordie did re-model the neighborhood "dive bar" and tweak it and improve its appearance but the real change was Geordie's personal attention to his patrons to insure their satisfaction. Geordie, Patricia, Brian & Danny work hard to anticipate and meet the needs of their clientele and it shows. Drinks are reasonably priced as are snacks & recently added bar food; pizza, franks, pretzels, etc. Several tvs are usually tuned-in to whatever sports are happening that day, including horse racing and even "futbol" (aka "soccer") and "Jeopardy" (r.i.p. Alex Trebek) at night. The juke-box is well stocked with a variety of tunes to please most musical tastes with the volume adjusted just right to enjoy the music but not so high to stifle conversations. Geordie & staff command respect and receive it in spades from their loyal patrons. Regulars are not "stand-offish", but friendly where appropriate without being intrusive. All in all, Geordie's Joint is a pleasant and unpretentious "dive" bar without the rough edges and definitely...
Read moreI absolutely loved this bar. The owner, Geordie, was amazing. My friend and I went in and were immediately treated like friends, and that doesn't always happen in neighborhood bars. The decorations were great. They have a pool table and a dart board. The prices are amazing. The atmosphere is laid back. They also have a Jukebox with a lot of good songs. The decorations as always, were on point. The atmosphere is friendly and laid back. ...
Read moreStay away from this watering hole for the neighborhood's lowlife/drunks. Yes, it's a bar and if I felt the professional barkeeps were only expected to pour a decent drink at a reasonable cost, I'd leave off there. That said, unless you can insinuate yourself into the downside of the regular clientele, you are not going to have a good time. Indeed, I cannot think of any bar in Woodhaven worth your time patronizing; they're all pretty much a holdover from...
