Plain regular size Cannoli $5 each was okay. Rainbow cookies $16/lb was good! Mini cannolis $25/lb
I didn't understand what was going on so I couldn't ask the young lady to fix the price when I was in the store but I came home and realized that she over charged me on purpose (?).
She took out and scaled rainbow cookies first then she scaled 2 cannolis. Rainbow cookies weighed 0.18lb/$2.88 and Cannolis were shown 0.2lb/ $3.20 on the scale(she punched in $16/lb for reg cannoli. I still don't know why), 0.02lb heavier than rainbow cookies. She checked the cannoli weight twice. Both times the scale shows 0.2lb.
I thought WOW cannolis are crazy cheap! But she told me the total is $13.20. so I was stunned and asked how much is the cannoli. She told me "$5 each, so the total is $13.20". I thought it's within the normal price in nyc. So I paid anyway.
On my way home, I was thinking why she checked the cannoli's weight not only once but twice if the reg sized Cannoli is fixed price(she said mini cannolis are by lb and it's $25/lb but the cannolis I bought were regular size).
And I realized I got charged cannoli weight which is heavier than rainbow cookies price. My total is supposed to be $12.88 not $13.20.
It was a little bit of difference. Only 32 cents, but the cost I paid for nothing that left me wonder. The question is are they doing this all the time or was I just...
Read moreI come here often for Italian pastries and breads. And the one thing I look forward to every year is their Saint Joseph's pastries which are both only available around the holiday of patron Saint Joseph. The Saint Joseph is a puff pastry filled inside with cannoli cream and topped with a dollop of cannoli cream on top and the Saint Joseph sfingy is a puff pastry filled with custard and topped with a dollop of custard and some candied orange peels and cherry. Yesterday I went to pickup some of each and when I got home and opened the cake box the Saint Joseph looked like they forgot to put the cannoli cream inside and when I lifted off the top half of the puff pastry I saw a small low profile swirl of cannoli cream only in the very center not even covering the whole width of the bottom half of the puff pastry, and the same for the same for the Saint Joseph sfingy. I'm not sure if it has to do with the high prices of eggs but they could have at least put on enough filling in a single layer to cover the whole pastry base so you won't bite into a completely dry rim of pastry before actually getting to the filling that makes it worth the once a year wait. And for 3 of each version totaling 6 pastries little over $31.00. It was...
Read moreIf I could give "0" Stars I would. This morning I happen to be here with a friend. The older women was very rude, and very unprofessional. We ordered two Cappuccino and two Italian cheesecakes, she used her hands to put cheesecakes on the plate without gloves, I didn't like that and I told her that I don't like what you just did, that you touch the cake with your fingers, she responded by saying my hands are clean and continued to ask if we want anything else. I told her to give me 2 different cheesecakes and please do not touch it with your hands, she applied: if you dont want it then you can go somewhere else. "WOW" I said! this is how you treat customers? She didn't reply and asked who's next. As I was going to go out another customer said to her; Anna, that's not good what you just did. Few hours later I found out she is the Owner of the Bakery. Stay away from this women She's...
