This review is based on a Delivery review through Grubhub, not a pick up or dine in.
Short Story - Good food, excellent way to handle a situation, will go there to dine in as well as order from again.
Long story:
I placed the order probably around 11:05AM (Sunday), got the email saying it was being worked on and left it at that. After waiting till the time it was supposed to arrive, I noticed the delivery time had changed by 20 minutes. Ok, no problem, my toddler can hang in there for another 20 min.
The 20 mins were up so I reached out to customer service to see if there was an issue. Apparently they had gotten the order late but they couldn't give me a time of when it was going to be delivered. I really wanted to wait but my kid was really hungry so I told them to cancel the order and I'd try them again next time. No harm no foul, things happen.
I went out to buy a quick lunch, started eating with the family and, about 30 min later, someone was knocking on the window with the food.
When I spoke with the delivery person, I told him that he should take the food back because I had cancelled the order and had already bought another lunch. He was confused so he called the restaurant. I couldn't make out everything that was being said but I made it clear that if they insisted I take the food, I wasn't going to pay. They told me to keep the food and said I didn't have to pay. I asked if he was sure
I feel bad because I know how slim margins are for restaurant and made a note to order from them again a couple of times. I sat down, open the food and we took nibbles of the order. Food was great and now I feel worse. My wife and I agreed that this'll be the restaurant we order greek food from moving forward.
I wish more restaurants were like this. Will definitely dine in and...
Read moreGreek family restaurant is a very loud place. It has very high ceilings and separated into a bar area and the dining area. We had a very large crowd and tables and chairs we're back-to-back. This led to a fire hazard situation which thankfully did not occur! I asked the chef for his recommendation he suggested the lamb gyro. The table was set with pita bread and three dipping I heard cursing and hummus, Tzatzikis sauce, and baba ghanoush. The waitress had to squeeze by every person in order to serve the meals. It was very crowded. The dining area was separated by a wall that had two men on letter painting the ceiling on the other side. The ventilation was good, so I did not smell any paint. Everyone started receiving their dishes, which looked good. My lamb arrived and lamb was dry and overcooked it was served in pieces with loose pita bread add more sauce. The alternatives were to have chicken three kinds. Suddenly I heard screaming and cursing from the other side of the wall at the bar between I believe the owner and the waitress! This was not conducive to a good meal! I was told I should return the dish by one of my compatriots for something else because this was overcooked. The dish was overcooked and very dry and not well made! Open restaurants with high ceilings would normally have a very loud dining area and I usually avoid these types of places. I cannot recommend this restaurant. They do have one handicapped bathroom. Which would not be sufficient for the number of capacity patrons that they...
Read moreStopped here on a whim because it was close to home and it was going to be a quick meal. Although this is a small restaurant, we were easily seated.
The ambiance is very homey, lots of pots and pans and kitchen things on the walls. Old vintage pictures of family and some string instruments also were used as décor.
The menu is typically Greek food, but if you are not into Greek food, there is a larger than large selection of burgers to choose from, along with salads galore. Our waitress told us about the nights specials of whole fish and other fresh fish entrees which sounded really delicious, but we stuck with the quick Gyro. I had the chicken gyro with my side of lemon potatoes. It was a large portion, fresh and very tasty. Sorry I forgot the picture this time, but I was a member of the clean plate club tonight. "G" ordered the regular gyro with the side of vegetable soup. I did not hear any complaints from that side of the table. We saw other patrons with different versions of kebabs and salads. There were quite an array of different orders within the restaurant.
When I came in to be seated, it looked as if the owner was serving dinner to a couple who was less fortunate than the rest of us. It was so refreshing to see that an establish was taking the time to care for others who needed a little help. For that reason alone I would probably come back here, plus I did eye the hamburger and it looked amazing.
There is some outside seating and parking is on the street...
