What was meant to be an exciting new place to try, I left feeling hurt due to several (white) customers getting their drink before me (a person of color) even though I ordered mine first. In addition, the drink was not made the way it was marketed and I was almost expected to settle. My matcha took minimum 20 minutes while several other customers who walked in after me were handed their drink. It truly felt weird and hurtful. Either poor training or true racism. Not quite sure. Either way, I respectfully confronted the female employee while the male coworker said nothing. I came in September 27th at 11am. I understand you’re located in a predominantly white area, but it’s 2025…why are ALL customers not being treated the same?

Came here after seeing the review about the matcha being better than kijitora…it was not the case for me at all. The matcha was dull and mid at best. They use strawberry syrup red 40 style for the strawberry matcha. See the photos for yourself. Fun vibes on the interior tho. But really maybe one of the worst matchas ive had. The lemonade matcha was also kinda disgusting. We also paid an insane amount for these drinks… about $22 (the strawberry matcha being 12$). Just save your money yall.

I visited this café after seeing their drinks on social media and was really looking forward to trying them. Unfortunately, my experience wasn’t positive.

Someone ordered the same drink as me, and I placed my order first. Her drink was made right away, but mine wasn’t started until I went back to ask about it. When it was finally made, it came out looking completely different from what was advertised online. When I politely asked about the difference, I was told it would “taste the same,” which didn’t feel like a helpful response. I requested a remake, but instead of completing it, the barista moved on to a larger group order and left mine unfinished.

Overall, I felt overlooked as a customer and didn’t get the product I expected. I really wanted to enjoy this spot, but based on this experience I wouldn’t...

As a designer, I do like the space and what they’ve done with it, beautiful modern architecture. Now, Im afraid this is their way of justifying overpriced mediocre drinks. I live a couple blocks away, so My GF and I popped in to check out this new neighborhood addition. Perhaps it’s because it’s new, but the service was poor and the drinks were awful. If you’re going to charge $7 for a matcha drink, you better know what you’re doing. We both asked for a iced matcha, not a latte, just a matcha. The staff seemed very confused by our request and asked us 3 times to confirm that we did not want milk. And No, matcha does not always require milk. Finally our “non latte” matchas were served. Completely diluted, basically a cup of iced green water. Not impressed. Yet another overpriced addition to...

It’s a cute place with a nice garden in the back. Staff was pleasant and proficient. Lattes were passable, more acidic than i would expect an espresso roast to be, and lacked that fresh toasty dark roast fragrance/flavor at first sip that i look forward to. But let me temper that with the fact that they traveled three blocks before being tasted. It’s not that far but maybe it affected the flavor??

The plain and chocolate croissants were more expensive than at my neighborhood French bakery across the river, and the texture and taste were on par with something from the morning coffee cart on any Manhattan corner: Zero flakiness; no hint of buttery goodness. They were like bulk supermarket stuff. Maybe they were left over from...
