This used to be my families go to spot for a solid Italian dinner. I haven’t been here in years and decided to revisit with some friends….after our recent visit I was reminded why we stopped coming here.

The service was just okay. I was very confused as to who our server was. I felt as though our table was forgotten about. No one ever checked up on us and we waited a very long time in between courses.

The food was also just okay. Nothing was crazy delicious but nothing was bad tasting either. I’m convinced their seafood is frozen and never fresh, which is a huge disappointment.

Our waiter was constantly trying to upsell everything. And we were completely shocked at how expensive our dinner was when we received the bill. We ordered a seafood appetizer and he asked if we wanted it for the table and we said yes. We didn’t realize he was going to charge us for 4 appetizers. We also asked for a bottle of red wine for the table and brought us a $50+ bottle. As we reluctantly paid our bill the server asked us to tip him in cash which left a bad taste in our mouths.

There are so many other good Italian restaurants in the neighborhood where you can get better quality food and phenomenal service for a much more...

I ordered from this restaurant on Sunday, August 17th, and they forgot to send the two desserts. I called right away and was told a manager would contact me shortly. Two hours later, no call — so I called back. This wasn’t the first mistake either; they had messed up my order the week before.

Instead of resolving it, the staff told me the manager was too busy and suggested waiting until the next day. I pushed back, gave my credit card number, and was told the refund would be processed right away. However, Toast customer support confirmed that if a refund or void had actually been processed, I would have seen it on my receipt immediately. Nothing ever appeared, proving the restaurant never followed through.

By Tuesday, I called again only to be met with excuses and dismissiveness. I was told refunds are some “long process,” when in reality it’s a simple void for two missing items. By Thursday, still no refund. Instead of taking responsibility, they wasted my time and tried to brush me off.

At this point, it’s not even about the money — it’s about how little they value their customers. In the end, I had to file a dispute with my bank just to get back what I paid for and never received. Terrible service...

Rip off!! First of all, they charge you a fee if you use a credit card. Next, $13 for a glass of white wine, $4 for a seltzer, and $6 for a cappuccino is ridiculous. 3 balls of profiteroles for dessert is $10! The red snapper was very good but for the price of $26 it should have been excellent. The grilled octopus was delicious and tender so I didn't mind that for $17. Also, beware, my entree came with salad, so I ordered a salad to start for nothing (they were both very good, though). If I didn't ask the waiter he wouldn't have told me. Furthermore, there was a party going on in the next room; it was very noisy and we kept getting different waiters. I had to get up and ask a waiter for a dessert menu after waiting for what seemed like an hour. To top it off, he forgot to give me the leftover profiterole and I had to go back inside to get it. Not to mention it was freezing in there too as they left the front door wide open. Unfortunately, our table was near the entrance to the basement so I kept getting the draft from there too as the employees kept going up and down. It's a shame, though. I eventually would like to give this place another try, as it is an Italian, friendly...

If you’re looking for an authentic slice of Brooklyn’s culinary history, this old-school Italian gem is the place to be. Walking in feels like stepping back in time, with its classic decor and warm, welcoming vibe that instantly makes you feel at home. The food? Absolutely incredible. Every dish is a testament to why this restaurant has stood the test of time. From the rich, flavorful sauces to the perfectly al dente pasta, you can taste the love and tradition in every bite. And the pizza? It’s truly one of a kind—thin, crispy crust with toppings so fresh and perfectly balanced, you’ll be craving it long after the last slice. The flavors are bold, authentic, and unforgettable. This is the kind of place where they know your name and remember your favorite order—a true neighborhood treasure. It’s no wonder they’ve been around for so many years. If you’re searching for great food with an old-school feel, this is your spot. Highly recommend! This isn’t an instagram hype spot. This is the real deal.

Everything was exceptional. The food was freshly made and delicious (definitely worth the wait which wasn't long especially if you order some great appetizers), the portions are very good which makes the dishes satisfying and/or shareable, the servers were kind and attentive, and the atmosphere was wonderful, family-friendly with nice Italian music in the background. Pasquale was amazing and helped accommodate food intolerances. They can accommodate most dietary restrictions, including vegan! They have a small (but delicious) plant-based menu at their Brooklyn location. I really enjoyed it and I'm not vegan. If you're interested in plant-based options, I'd recommend asking about them in advance in case they run out of certain ingredients. We were all very happy with our dishes, including the meat and plant-based ones. I really appreciate all of their efforts and want to thank them for making our day so special. I would highly recommend this restaurant, especially for special occasions!
