Villa Fiorita has been recommended to me many times by various people. I've been busy going to other places, trendy and modern, so I've hesitated going to such an old-fashioned place. I will admit that I was so wrong to take so long to come to this place. Yes, the aesthetics are lacking, the outside is unpretentious and the inside is rustic and homey. But, what you come here is for the food and the service. I was awed by the genuine warm welcome and the five star service.
The service alone was beyond great, the waiters so attentive and caring that it felt like I was being served in my own home by caring relatives. Yes, its family-owned and operated, so there a level of dedication hard to find in many other places. The atmosphere created here was relaxed - a perfectly slow Sunday feeling. The customers were clearly regulars, everyone familiar with each other, and each table was occupied for a full house. "Atmosphere is more like a family reunion than an impersonal restaurant." More importantly, you were expected to stay as long as you liked, there was no expectation you should leave as soon as your dessert was done - "Be prepared for a leisurely dinner as they don't turn tables."
As for the food, there was some wait time - the time necessary for fresh food to be prepared for your order. We had the baked clams and the fried calamari. Fresh seafood, you can actually taste the freshness as if the fish had been brough in just that morning. The baked clams were also flavorful, with a bottom sauce that I enjoyed so much I ended up dipping the fried calamari into that sauce. The fried calamari was exquisite, fresh, tender, and crispy. The accompanying tomato sauce for the fried calamari was so good, I enjoyed dipping my bread in it after the calamari was gone. For entree, we ordered linguine with clam sauce and saltimbocca alla romana. The portions were grand and the food was beyond exceptional. The linguine with clam sauce had beautifully fresh clams and whole cloves of baked garlic - scrumptious. The saltimbocca was tender over a bed of green spinach topped with prosciutto and the most amazingly crisp egg.
We didn't make it to dessert - we were too full with their generous portions. Everything was very reasonably priced and so affordable for the quality and portion. So, I will come again to Villa Fiorita and highly recommend this place to anyone who has appreciation for good food and good atmosphere. If you want to be spoiled, desire a leisurely dinner, and appreciate fine Italian dining, Villa Fiorita is the...
Read moreSo God's honest truth, this is the first review I've ever done. Being that I own a small business myself I've always shyed away from leaving reviews knowing how sensitive it can be for a business. Even knowing this, I can't resist leaving this place 5 stars ON THEIR FOOD ALONE... living in bensonhurst for 47 yrs I've now come to realize that I'm a "strunz" for never trying this place lol.. The baked clams are great but to say the linguine pescatore is great, is an UNDERSTATEMENT... Words cannot describe it so I'm done writing lol...TRY THAT DISH, it beats ALL OTHERS IN BKLYN,...

Very reasonably priced. Be prepared for a leisurely dinner as they don't turn tables. Customers are mostly regulars who eat there often. Atmosphere is more like a family reunion than an impersonal restaurant. By end of the night you will be sharing photos of your grandkids with your new friends at the next table. Like Cheers, this is a place where everybody...
