Was excited to try this new place with my boyfriend’s family during his bday weekend. I think my boyfriend was more excited because he has like five Korean restaurants in a rotation and by finding this one he hoped he would include in his rotation list. So we went in and were excited as we waited. The restaurant was nearly empty and quiet. When we got our table, it was setup with all the standard Korean appetizers. I was impressed because usually we would wait at the table for the appetizers and being greeted with them like that was cool. We dove right in while we waited to order. As always Korean restaurants would only hand out two menus for a party of 7 so we requested more menus to speed up the process since we were super hungry. As we ordered our food with the waiter, he got to the seventh person from our party he said to us “hold on, give me a sec”. He then left mid sentence. We were all upset because we were not sure what was happening plus there were so many orders so we were wondering if he went for a pen and paper to write down our order. To our dismay, he came back about ten minutes later and he told us “since it’s the weekend and you are occupying two tables, you need to order two barbecue meats per table because we are a barbecue restaurant”. We were lost because there’s no where on the menu which stated that and no one told us from when we walked in that we had to order barbecue meats nor was it mentioned anywhere on the menus. This was just absurd and distasteful since there was barely anyone in the restaurant so it’s not like our party not ordering the barbecued meats was costing them business by occupying a table for a line waiting outside the door. I could see the waiter felt bad delivering the message but also I feel like this could’ve been said to us while we waited or on the website or the menu so we wouldn’t have wasted our time in there or be told that we had to order what they wanted us to. Needless to say, the waiter told us he wouldn’t charge us for the appetizers that we ate. As if that was going to be an option!!!!!! It wasn’t our fault that this information was not passed on to us before we sat. Anyways, you guys lost our business, you’ve made this one exception at least. Would never go back there cause this a bit embarrassing! The restaurant is lovely but clearly not managed properly. Can’t speak on the food though but I guess if you want barbecue you should go on the weekend or otherwise go there during the week🤷‍♀️. Or don’t waste your time at all!
