Visited: Sun., April 18, 2021. My Brooklyn boyfriend turned me on to Jordan’s over 10 years ago. They were much better in the past. I had always looked forward to their perfectly seasoned fried calamari and shrimp. The calamari was unseasoned and was not crisp enough and NOT DRAINED OF OIL WELL ENOUGH. I had indicated when ordering that I wanted fresh french fries but, that was not to be. Our two orders of fries were sent back and they were remade without incident. The raw top neck clams were just okay (I’ve enjoyed Nathan’s more). I don’t want to blame them for raw clams, but perhaps it was the cocktail sauce, it was a bit too sweet. With so many independent restaurant's hurting during this pandemic we feel it’s important to show them that we value their existence, but they need to keep striving to be the best and hire the best people to represent their businesses. Jordan’s prices are not inexpensive and given our most recent visit, not worth the trip we made from the Hudson Valley. I hope the owner really, honestly cares...
Read moreI had gone here based on a friends suggestion, I wasnt really sure about this place though Ive seen it on the way to TGI Fridays nxt door plenty of times. My friend said it was really good food so we went and they were right. For what I had I wasn't disappointed. I tried something simple because my theory is if you screw up a simple dish like shrimp and fench fries then everything else is trash too. The shrimps were huge and plentiful, the French fries wasnt seasoned or anything special but they were nicely crisp. They wasnt greasy or frozen tasting either. I'm ok with frozen fries as I know most eateries serve it but dont let it taste the part is all I'm saying. My friend had scallops, fried clam strips, and the lobster. All of wich looked and smelled appetizing. Maybe next I'll try the lobster and crabs cause they looked HUGE! I really enjoyed my trip here. It was simple seafood, not overly done or salted. That counts in instances such as this where less was...
Read moreDecided to pick up some lobsters for dinner. The lobster special from the retail market is 3 lobsters for $39. Be mindful they close earlier than the restaurant. You can order the lobsters alive or cooked. There is no doubt you will get some fresh lobsters from here. Not sure if this location has any connection to Jordan's located in Islend Park. I was disappointed the way they packed the cooked lobsters. In Island Park they are individually wrapped. At this location, they tossed the three lobsters into a clear plastic bag. They did, at least, double bagged the lobsters. The flyer states that the lobsters are GUARANTEED an average weight 1.25lbs and yes, I did indeed weigh them when I got home. As you can see in the photos, only one of the three lobsters tipped the one pound mark on the food scale. They were more than 20% underweight. Had I paid the wholesale per pound price, the lobster would have cost me around $8 each. I deducted stars for packaging...
