This place is okay but definitely not hygienic...the avenue J location is 100 times better I am inclined to leave a review because I just left the establishment so grossed out I will not go back. I was making a salad when an older lady most likely the owner's mother or grandmother was behind the salad bar making herself a sandwich, no gloves on, but picking at the vegetables w her bare hands and putting her entire fingers in her mouth. She placed her shoulder bag on the counter where sandwiches and food is being handled, her bag fell forward and the shoulder strap fell into the creamchees/cheese. So disgusting. I was the only customer inside at the time so I guess she felt ok being unsanitary. She had zero respect and ignored the man trying to make my salad, walking all in his way like we both didn't exist. They have the best Lace Cookies I've ever had in my life, I think Trader Joe's calls them Laceys. An incredible mix of almond, chocolate, caramel. The Chocolate Babka was also out of this world, and less than half the price of a Breads Bakery babka. What a steal!
I'm looking for excuses to come to this neighborhood just so I can revisit the bakery and try more things.
