This place has a habit of leaving their food trays wide open and that corner has flies. I myself is an Asian and when visiting Asian countries I don’t mind eating in the markets when smells atmosphere are worse than this. But here it just feels awkward, and I am a man who don’t always problem eating at restaurants with lower than C city health ratings. Like I said I am used to eating at such places when visiting Asia. And also sometimes they left the rice cooker open and the rice is dry it feels weird eating mushy rice with harden rice and dried rice. What really put the last straw on camels back is one time the food serving girl responded to me in Thai. I was asking her what kind of meat this was and she replied to me in her Thai language. I said “excuse me what is this” politely and she seems annoyed and replied to me in Thai. I am not thai, I don’t speak Thai. I assume she must’ve thought I was Thai Chinese and mistook me for some snob who no longer speak their language. Who is she to make that judgement to someone who she doesn’t know? Let alone a customer. To make this short, if anyone wants to go there they have my support. I like seeing small businesses doing well with good intent. With that being said, there is a reason why there are Thai restaurants in the area where you get a dish for $19-$30. And this place they give you 3 dishes with rice for only $15. That’s right you guessed...
Read moreAuthentic Thai cafeteria style with a modern looking decor. Just a short walk from the Elmhurst train station.
When I walked in, I thought my vision had gone bad and I couldn't read the menu. But upon further inspection..they had the menu in both languages, English and Thai!
Choose either 2 or 3 mains with rice (only a 50cent difference, I would go with 3 to try other items).
I went with the 3 mains $7.50 on top of a mountain of rice. Ordered green curry, string beans, and sweet pork.
Green curry is super spicy, but it has a nice slow burn. I need to stress, they give you a MOUNTAIN OF RICE! I'm glad they did because my green curry needed some starchy grains to wash and soak in the heat!
String beans make me feel like my meal is somewhat healthy without feeling too heavy.
Sweet pork was seasoned well and bursting with flavor.
Thai ice tea $2 was bit on the sweet side, but after the ice melted it was okay.
Thai ice coffee was strong and sweetened with condensed milk. $2.50
Desserts I had Black Sticky Rice with Coconut Milk and Green Tapioca with Coconut Milk, both weren't too sweet, and it had the perfect texture to end my meal.
Ample seating if you decide to stay, tables are clean and bathrooms...
Read morei used to come here twice a week before covid, eventhough i live in manhattan i always come once a week now and never see the owner, before the owner or her son or daughter always there on weekend. i noticed the cashier is always mark-up the price. its happened again today, i bought 1 3entree the cashier asked me for $13.75 instead of $13.60 ,i knew that only 13.60 because i already prepared exactly , since she asked me $13.75 so i gave her $15 and asked for RECEIPT! and She was surprised when i asked for receipt. She has no choice have to give me back the exactly change.I know its only $0.15, but its not about $ 0.15 matter, its happened few times to me , last time cashier charged extra change and also happened once She charged me extra $1 but i didnt asked for receipt, i realised when i left . So since that day i always asked for the receipt. if She did it to me She must be did it to ALL customer. my suggestion is when you buy something over there better asked for the receipt since its a CASH transaction. i saw 1 customer in front of me he bought 3 of 3 entrees he got charged extra also . Thats why you will see sign at some restaurant that only accept cash “If you don’t get a receipt your...
