I went on 09/24/24. One of my concerns was the age-related changes to my skin, thinning and dryness. When I asked if I could get a low dose of topical estrogen, which has been shown to be effective, I was told "Our office doesn't prescribe that." Read, "We don't offer safe and effective treatments to combat age related skin conditions." I was told to go to the gynecologist to obtain a medication that I intend to use on my face. Why? If I needed a steroid, they'd send the script. Estrogen? Oh no! They're either ignorant of the benefits of estrogen or they're misogynists with malicious intent. The doctor's other suggestion? Use moisturizer! I hadn't thought of going to the drugstore and purchasing some. I instead decided to go way out of my way to schedule an appt to visit the doctor, pay the co-pay, and be told to go buy something OTC. Not brilliant advice, there, doc. I'm at YOUR office because I have exhausted all at home solutions. Running to the dermatologist is not my first line of solving a skin issue. Also, if you're using a prescription on an as-needed basis, they will not reissue you a prescription for the same medication you've been taking unless you mentioned it within the previous 6 months at your in-person appt. "I need _, which I've had from your office before." "No, you can't have it unless you come in, because although you've been seen in the last 6 months, you never mentioned at that appointment that you might need this in the future, notwithstanding that it's in our chart that you've used it before." Zero tele-health appointments available since the end of the pandemic. Literally, go...
Read moreI’ve been a patient of Metro Dermatology since 2011. I used go to the flushing office location before the Jackson heights Location opened l which turned out to be a great convinience for me. The girls in the front desk are so nice and professional and doctor i get seen by is the best she (Dr.stacy)always helps me with everything I need. Unfortunately my last visit wasn’t very pleased on 2/26/2020. I went in for my regular check up. The assistant Carmen was extremely rude and had a nasty attitude with me. She was constantly rolling her eyes at me ( she also acted as she was annoyed about what I was telling her ) as I explained to her a few concerns I had, after she had asked me if I had any questions or concerns. to give a further break down I had asked Carmen about a bill that I got from a biopsy last year and immediately she rolled her eyea I told me “ I DONT KNOW I DONT GOT ANYTHING TO DO WITH THAT” and she immediately left me in the room talking to myself as I was finishing up my explanation. I had leave the office feeling very uncomfortable because of the way she treated me I was able to call and make my make my follow up appointment over the phone I was help out by Arianny and I was able to asked her about the bill I had the concern about she was very kind and was explain to explain everything in a very nice and...
Read moreI’m usually very pleased whenever I visit metro dermatology. The doctors are very nice and helpful. The staff is usually very nice as well. However, today I had a terrible experience with one of the staff members in the front desk. My appointment was scheduled for 4:50Pm I arrived 10min late due to traffic. I arrived at 5Pm on the dot. They sat me down for 5 min, I had heard my name among the staff members. The lady called my name and says that she can not attend me because I was late. This has never happened to me before, I’ve been 5-15 min late before and I’ve never had a problem. She then began to give me an attitude and roll her eyes. I would completely understand if I was 25 to 30min late, but I was not! She proceeded to lie, saying everyone had left when the doctors who usually attend me were still there standing. I explained that today was my only day available and that I am busy any other day. I just think is very inconsiderate from their part, because they are wasting people’s time and money. I paid 40 dollars for an Uber from my house to the dermatology, just so they can not see me, and give...
