I've had a mixed experience with the sushi at Kushi Asian Fusion. While some rolls are decent and occasionally even good, the service, particularly regarding delivery, has been disappointing.
My recent experiences with the delivery drivers have been frustrating. During a previous order, I explained that I live in a building without an elevator and have a broken leg, making it impossible for me to come downstairs. However, the driver callously insisted I come down instead, stating, “I’m too busy to come upstairs.” He ended up leaving my order in the lobby, forcing me to crawl down and back up the stairs for my food, despite tipping $5.
This time, I left a $2 tip, considering I was already charged a delivery fee of $3 and a convenience fee of $1. To my shock, the delivery driver yelled at me for the small tip and rudely suggested that I should order through Uber Eats next time. I understand that tipping isn't mandatory, but given that the restaurant is only 5 blocks away and the driver was on a moped in good weather, I felt my tip was fair. A delivery driver should be more considerate, especially when the restaurant doesn’t offer the service of bringing my order upstairs.
Overall, the sushi might be decent, but the rude delivery drivers really detract from the experience. This place needs to reevaluate its delivery staff to ensure better service...
Read moreWe decided to try this place as it looked very bright inside. We were greeted by a nice young man, he let us know that they serve a combination of Thai, Chinese and Japanese food. We were looking for some good noodles and bbq meat originally so it worked for us. All smaller tables were occupied so we got to seat at the big party table. Interior of this place is so cool, they have anime comic book wall art and fun figurines, that kept our daughter busy while waiting for food. She originally didn’t want to walk into the place as were planning to eat at another place where we usually go to, but cool details in the interior made her interested. Her favorite thing was the kid’s chopsticks that looked like a cute Japanese cat :) we noticed that they have them in two colors - pink for girls and blue for boys. My daughter is very picky with her food so I was really pleased with a fact that we could customize her Pad Thai. I ordered 3 rolls myself. We also got chicken, lamp, and beef bbqs and ramen soup. Food was prepared very fast, we didn’t have to wait for too long and all stuff was super nice and friendly. We left feeling nice and happy, food was super delicious, rolls and sashimi were fresh (we got my fav octopus sashimi) We will be coming...
Read moreA student recommended this, wasn't sure he knew what he was talking about. I was pleasantly surprised! Ordered the Yakitori combo 1 and the Thai style eggplant tofu as a veggie side dish. The chicken, beef and lamb Yakitori all were well grilled yet tender and juicy! The pork belly I couldn't distinguish or maybe they ran out and gave me more chicken? The eggplant and tofu had a great sear and paired well with their sauce. My wife and son had Tonkotsu Ramen, the tea eggs and pork were devoured instantly. My young son did his best but only ate half his portion. My wife however had no leftovers. The two waitstaff helped deliver the food to us as soon as it came out but were visibly busy. It took some time to get their attention and receive my bill but I didn't mind much since we were relaxing waiting for our food to digest.
The total I expected was atleast $100 but it was way less! Definitely...
