Table for 2, dinner. 1st timers.
Been seeing posts on Xhs and confirmed with google reviews, had 4.7 stars from over 140+ reviewsas a new establishment, thought they have to be legitimately good. Then realized (many of) those reviews are not valid. See pic 1, if you a give 5 star review, you’ll receive a free dessert, so there are many reviews below with no description but just stars.
🍱 Food Review Osaka yakisoba was a joke, they had absolutely no flavor, tiny portion, the veggies were mushy, only flavor you get is the mayo on top and dried fish flakes. This is the worst yakisoba I have ever had. I’m even thinking if they came in a precooked packet at that point. The sashimi deluxe for 2, not fresh, the slices were very soft, the scallops were “crumpling” as I picked it up, quality is comparable to the Sake AYCE a few blocks down. And the other two appetizers were just alright.
🥛Service The servers were friendly, but did not like the fact they lied. Sat down at the table with the very narrow, uncomfortable bench, when asked if we can sit in the like curtain rooms, service said its reserved. Okay, understandable, we did a walk in. We ordered food, and the food took a very long time to come considering there is no other tables or busy with takeout orders. We then were offered to sit in the original curtain room inquired, thought maybe our food would Not fit the tiny table, cool. Soon to realized, it was their employee dinner time, they were sitting right outside, having dinner and chat away. There was not much service, you would press the bell on the wall if you need anything. (PS, the so call reservation did not exist)
⭐️Atmosphere Ground floor looks way smaller than the pictures saw on social media. Heard they have basement and second floor sitting as well. I can only provide feedback on what I experienced, those bench are super narrow and uncomfortable. The chairs are fake wood and you can see the edges where they were sealed up, screaming cheap quality. Did not like the fact that staffs were super chatty and sat right in the main area for dinner when customers are also setting right next to them in a small dinning space. Also, the path way is also narrow in there, when we first sat there, the kitchen staffs were taking out the kitchen trash, those big commercial trash cans, they can easily touch you/your coats as the staffs drag them out to the store front, just plain unpleasant experience.
All and all, I guess we expected better, and left very...
Read morePretty upset at my recent experience. I took a sick day off work and called to order at 1:30 pm. I asked in Cantonese for it to be delivered and provided my number. I’ve ordered from here previously and usually when they ask you for your number like most restaurants their system will show your address. The girl gives me my total and tell me 15 minutes which I was excited since usually delivery takes 30-45 mins from them. After 45 minutes I called back concerned that I misheard her say 15 mins. She then says I called for pickup and not delivery… I was with someone else at the time and they heard me say delivery never did I say the word pickup. So to be told off that I said something I clearly didn’t was already upsetting enough. Then she says I asked for your phone number not your address to which I explain to her that they take my number and see the address cause I’ve ordered several times for delivery before. Also if I didn’t come pickup after 45 minutes wouldn’t you be concerned and call me to ask if I’m on the way? Since you only “took down my number.” At this point she apologizes and she asked if I still want the order and I mention I don’t want it since it’s probably not fresh anymore and she did offer to remake it but I’ve waited 45 minutes and probably have to wait another 45 just to get it delivered. I understand miscommunications happen and I’m not trying to be difficult but to say I said something I didn’t and try to further correct me is another thing. Their hand rolls are great but this experience just made them lose a regular customer.
1/14/25 update: I was craving sushi and really enjoyed this place and decided why not give it another go and not let the previous experience push me away from good food. Provided my address 3 times. Was advised “we only deliver within the mile” even though they’ve delivered to me multiple times previously as I am within the mile. Safe to say there is no making the experience better. Felt like my business was being declined because of my...
Read moreCame here with my girlfriend, waited 30 mins for my food, this time I just wanted a simple sushi set meal, another couple sat next to me by the sushi bar and then they got their food within 10 minutes, asked the waiter why they got their food first and he said because they didn't order anything cooked, while they had grilled skewers and more complex items...instead of just apologizing and saying he forgot. I ate here before and had a pleasant experience and I'm actually upset they sat me at the sushi bar, I had first glimpse of their chefs at worked and was a little disgusted, the workers had gloves didn't care to be sanitary not paying attention to being clean ..touching everything around them and then touching raw fish that I was about to eat, touching the counter just seems very unsanitary, if you have ever ate at a real omakase restaurant you would know cleanliness is number 1 and they do it bare hands and constantly wash their hands when handling raw fish. The fishes they were using were literally touching the surface that looked very dirty as well. WORM IN TUNA AS SHOWN IN PICTURE. Please be more clean. Only reason why I'm not giving 1 stars is because they gave us cake to make us feel better at the end for making us wait so long and gave us a 10 percent discount and I understand running a business is hard and I feel bad for even writing this. But it is what it is. And please don't have your workers laugh and talk with each other constantly while working with raw food right in...
