Its family Birthday dinner day and we decided to make reservations at Leticia’s. I was very happy that we chose Leticia’s for my stepfather and my mom’s birthday dinner, but they made my mom cry. Give me a minute and I’ll tell you about that.

First let me tell you about the service; the ladies serving were exceptional, they were friendly and very attentive to our advising of food allergies. They were quick but not in a “hurry up and get out” kind of way. And most importantly, they conversed with us and made us feel welcomed. The menu is not overwhelming…it has a great selection of some typical Ecuadorian dishes and few interesting mixes of Mexico. The drinks: we ordered micheladas, margaritas, old fashions and they were all good drinks. But one drink stood out, the aniñado…this mix of passion fruit, vodka, simple syrup and agave was excellent. You need to try this drink. The appetizers: Tostones n guacamole, so good. Tostones y chorizo, awesome. Seems like we love tostones right, well we do and Leticias, well now they definitely know how to fry some great tostones here. My only “not so good” appetizer dish was the ceviche de chicharron, the pork pcs were too small (like really really small) and not crispy. The dinner: sopa marinera, arroz marinero, tres chanchitos, trucha frita (this was eaten to bare bone) and a shrimp ceviche, All excellent dishes with great flavors and really good visual appeal served in its unique bowls, plates n platters. Nothing was left on plates and what was in abundance was packed to go. While waiting for all of these delicious dishes (but we didn’t wait long) we had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Cando, owner of Leticia’s. A charming and amiable individual who also conversed with us for a bit and welcomed us to his restaurant. The ambiance: it’s a mix of your local Ecuadorian dinner place with a touch of cheer. Over all we had an excellent dinner experience here at Leticia’s and would recommend and return. Oh I forgot to tell you how these people made my mom cry. Like I had said we came to celebrate hers and my stepfather’s birthdays. Well, the servers and Mr. Cando brought out a dish of delicious freshly made churros with a large sparkle candle and sang Happy Birthday to her and my stepfather. She cried, she was touched. Thank You Leticia’s for that...

Super disappointed with this place. My mom and I were looking forward to eating here since the reviews were looking promising and we were just excited to try a new Ecuadorian restaurant. From the start we knew this will go downhill. My mom was never greeted at the entrance and had to ask for a table herself. Upon sitting down we noticed the music was obnoxiously loud which was unfortunate because it made it difficult to converse. I arrive to the establishment and also noticed the music was fairly loud and also asked if could be brought down just a tad. The waitress unwelcoming said I can go get another table but it’ll be just as loud. I asked kindly once again also if I could get another table because where we were sat was very cold. She looked like we were causing her an inconvenience and rolled her eyes as she was telling me to go check the back of the restaurant to see if that’s better for me but that it will be just as loud but warmer. At this point I was disappointed with the service but decided to still try the food since we had gone out our way to get there and we really were looking forward to it. We wanted to order several items off the menu and drinks but were so turned off by the whole interaction I just ordered what felt safe to order. I also asked for water but was never suggested tap or bottled. She brought a bottled water which tap would’ve been fine once again didn’t complain since I already felt like I was causing the waitress an inconvenience. Food was very underwhelming and bland. Presentation was beautiful but flavor was lacking abundantly. I would also like to add that the portion was very small and did not reflect the price. As an Ecuadorian myself this disappoints me because I know the potential our food has and this was not a good representation. Overall this restaurant was very disappointing most importantly the service was subpar and I felt like I was causing an inconvenience. We were looking forward to trying many items and we were just turned off by the...

During my travels in Chicago I stumbled upon Leticia's, and it turned out to be a delightful culinary discovery. This cozy restaurant exudes a warm and inviting ambiance that instantly made me feel at home.

As I perused the menu, the array of dishes caught my eye, offering a fusion of flavors that piqued my interest. I was particularly impressed with their selection of wholesome salads that showcased a beautiful variety of fresh ingredients and vibrant colors.

The standout of the evening was the attentive and friendly waitress, Margot. Her genuine enthusiasm and knowledge about the menu were commendable. Margot's recommendations were spot-on, guiding me to some of the restaurant's best salads.

I opted for one of their signature salads, and it was nothing short of exceptional. The ingredients were clearly sourced with care, and the salad was a delightful medley of textures and tastes that left me fully satisfied.

The only reason I didn't give Leticia's a full five stars is that the service was a bit slow, especially during peak hours. However, the delicious salads and Margot's warm hospitality more than made up for it.

In conclusion, Leticia's offers a wholesome culinary journey with its enticing variety of salads and cozy ambiance. If you find yourself in New York and craving a refreshing and delicious salad, I highly recommend stopping by Leticia's and indulging in their flavorful offerings. With Margot's excellent service and the delightful salads, you're sure to have an...

Update: Changing to 1 star because I never received my refund & I was recharged for a 2nd order that didn't even belong to me. HORRIBLE! The place itself is beautiful. However, table placement is off. So, if you bring a baby stroller, get prepared to ask other diners to allow some space for you to get through. This place has been on my list of places to try for over a year now & I was sadly disappointed. For being an ecuadorian restaurant-not once, did they play Ecuadorian music. The waitress also just took our order & gave us our checks & never checked on our table unless we were the ones that called her over. We ordered a bandeja paisa & an hornado cuencano. The bandeja paisa was overall good except for the pork-extra dry. My hornado cuencano had no flavor whatsoever & a piece of aluminum foil was still stuck to the skin of the pork. I had to add salt & hot sauce to give it some flavor. The waitress was very kind but forgetful. We had ordered more hot sauce & another drink & when we asked her about it 15 minutes later, she had completely forgotten about it. My 1st drink which was the Carnaval de la muerte was delicious!!! But the Tuza drink had no flavor & to end the night I was charged for someone else's order, which was of a higher amount & then we had to wait for management to rectify it. It was fixed and I didn't make it a big deal, but I can imagine another person having a fit over that. I really wanted to enjoy this place but it wasn't worth it.
