LiGreci's Staaten — Restaurant in New York

I didn’t want to do this but I have to. Jake Was an amazing person to work with. We booked our sons party with him and he made sure we had everything we needed. Also there was a young men we also worked him also to finalize everything he was awesome also. But Gary was Horrible. I went to staaten because of my family members who have so much respect for that place. So I said sure I’ll have my sons party there. My whole family works In the restaurant business and the way we were treated during our event was not ok. Bekim and Izzy worked that night and they were amazing. They did everything to make things right.

However the other servers were not as great. My guest were not served soft drinks when they ask multiple times. On top of that they weren’t served any coffee or cake.

Then the main course came and the chicken had a foul smell and no one ate it. Every turned it back. Ans ones who did try it for sick. Even the chicken fingers were cold and disgusting for the kids. I felt so embarrassed when family members were telling me. Second when we went to pay to tell him what had happened that night. We didn’t want any discounts we just wanted the owner to know what happened. Gary jumped in the convo and was so rude to my husband. Basically told us it’s not their fault about anything and they can’t help we have to pay for everything. We said we will pay but I’m Letting you know what happened. They didn’t give a damn about anything just wanted their money. Felt like they were money hungry. As a person who owns a business and a restaurant at that I would have never let me customers paid for something that was not ok. Or I would have tried my best to help them in anyway possible. I promised myself never again will I go there or send family members there to book parties. Horrible horrible. Horrible. But for the people that I did mention that are amazing I just feel bad for them to work under someone who isn’t for the...

Been to this beautiful venue twice and was nothing but amazing. Although both times were amazing the second time which was my Uncle’s surprise 75th birthday party was a little more special and memorable to me. I am a first time mom and this event I brought my 5 month old along with me but, I came alone due to my husbands crazy work hours. From the moment I walked in Candy was always there to help me as I needed. I wasn’t sure which bathroom to use since I needed a changing station, not only did she guide me in the correct direction, she helped bring down my diaper bag. My daughter was crying while I was changing her, Candy came into the bathroom and helped throw out some garbage I had then helped walk me back upstairs into my party room. That wasn’t all she did. She heated water for me to warm my daughters bottle and checked on us about 15 minutes into her feeding. Another major problem I ran into was unfortunately en route to this party my daughters formula spilt all over my car. Candy gave me directions to the nearest CVS since I am from Jersey, and not familiar with the area at all and also checked if they even had my formula in stock! Before I came up with a resolution, my thought was maybe I was going to have to leave early unfortunately, Candy offered if bringing my dinner plate out early would be good. I thankfully was able to get food at the local CVS so I was able to stay the whole night! Thanking Candy in my heart isn’t enough! She is such a good hearted person and I will forever remember how helpful and thoughtful she was the entire night. I will forever tell this story to anyone in search of a venue for a wedding or family party. Staaten is definitely a gorgeous venue that has amazing staff and they will be in absolute great hands !! My wife and I had been planning our wedding for quite some time. She being in the US, while I was abroad, we did look at a number of possible places to hold the event. Eventually, in August 2014 we settled on the Li Greci Staaten a the place we felt most comfortable. Li Greci Staaten stood out and boy, it did live up to and exceeded our expectations.

With our initial contact person being none other than Toney, he was rather helpful and courteous throughout our numerous visits to work out the details of the event.

When our big day finally arrived, we were granted access to four rooms; one for the ceremony, another for the cocktail, the bridal dressing room and the spacious reception hall. The cocktail room was filled with finger licking food and drink, whereby a few guests assumed that this is the location where the reception would have been held.

Special mention goes out to Beckim and Candy (both highly professional at what they do) they were amazing and knowledgeable and we were glad that they were on board to keep things on track with an incredible amount of energy and directing.

We cannot leave out Islam, very simple individual, easy to work with and totally professional. Lenny, one of the three bartenders attached to us, provide a fantastic service.

A great Facility! We will recommend The Staaten as an ideal place for wedding events.

Thanks to Jack and all the other crew, on behalf of all the family and friends who still continue to contact us indicating how wonderful the evening was and from those who said they never saw so much food at a wedding. (food that majority of the guests were allowed to carry home, something not allowed at most weddings).
