Got a little confused as this was also called Crescent Pocha when we came. This place definitely gives off clubbing vibes, with kpop group music videos projected on the TV. If it wasn't for the pandemic, I can definitely see people clubbing in here. My friend and I were the only customers there, it made us really comfortable eating indoors and as the weather was pretty warm out today, they had the AC on (hallelujah!). The place was really spacious as well, perfect for social distancing. They also had outdoor seating set up if you are uncomfortable dining indoors.
This was definitely not the typical Korean wings place, as instead of the 2 flavors (soy garlic & spicy), there was 4 (honey garlic, sweet & spicy, soy garlic, and spicy soy garlic). We ordered small wings (half & half: honey garlic, and spicy soy garlic). Both chicken was served warm and had a light crunch as the chickens were lightly battered. The flavors of the sauces was fairly mild. The honey garlic tasted like those Korean honey butter chips, and the spicy soy garlic was mildly spicy with the obvious taste of soy.
We also ordered the army stew which contains ramen noodles, soft tofu, spam, bacon, kimchi, and sausage slices. Loved how spicy it was, and the initial flavor and texture. However as you reach towards the end of the meal, you can taste the sourness of the kimchi that kind of overpowers the whole soup. I'd suggest ordering this for a group 2-3 people, as my friend and I struggled to finish.
I wouldn't say this would be Bonchon level, but if you are even in the area, I would recommend trying...
Read moreThis place was a real disappointment. First the service. The waitress kept not understanding what we wanted dispute is reading off exactly what is written on the menu. She kept getting the number and flavor of wings wrong and had to come back twice to check again. Even with that, she came back and said they may have already started to make the order wrong (thankfully it ended up being correct), but I donât understand how if you mess up a customers order, how do you just say âoh wellâ and still give them the wrong order just because you already started to make it wrong.
Also the flavor of the wings. It just wasnât really there. The wings were nice and crispy but any flavor they had kinda disappeared after a second in your mouth. Itâs a shame cuz the first bite, the first second was good, it just didnât last long in the mouth.
The spicy wings helped keep the flavor a bit but still had the same problem in my opinion. The flavor was a little more and lasted longer but still was not as flavorful as some other places. My friend thought it was ok though.
The fries were really really good though. VERY crispy!
I donât think I would go back but I hope they do well and maybe I went on an off night. The place looked really nice, I will definitely give them that....
Read moreI don't know if I've ever written a negative review on anything, but I just had to because I'm so unbelievably frustrated. I called in an order for kimchi fried rice and asked if it could be made without spam. The woman on the phone said that was fine. I arrived to pick it up, went home, and then realized it had spam. When I called back, she asked if I was really sure it was spam. I said yes. She said the chef is pretty sure it doesn't have spam. I asked if I need to come back to show them in person. She said yes. I said fine, but for the inconvenience, it'd be great if my housemate could keep the meal.
I went back to the restaurant and showed her the spam in the container. She saw it but still needed to show it to the chef. 10 minutes later, she comes out with the new dish but tells me repeatedly that I can't take home the original dish because I did not pay for two. Even though they made me come to the restaurant twice, the only thing they could offer for my inconvenience was "a chocolate." Also, she barely let me speak (kept cutting me off) when I tried to explain that this was a huge inconvenience + very inconsiderate for someone who doesn't eat pork. Also, I told her I would write this review, so...thanks for...
