Its OK. The restaurant itself when you walk in is very clean. They only have one toilet bowl for the WHOLE restaurant that is unisex so that was a turn off and disgusting. It was shared by men and women.
I love seafood and Staten Island does not have a big chain seafood store like Red Lobster which was my first choice for my birthday around so I figured I would go local for my birthday yesterday. I was disappointed. Once we walked in we were given a basket of fresh COLD bread with butter on the side. It was a chilly evening and cold bread just doesn't do it for me so I was a bit perturbed that I had to ask the bus girl to warm up the bread for me and my kids. Once it came back warm though it was delicious. Shame I had to ask for what should have been standard procedure. We ordered a lobster roll ($16) for appetizer and I was shocked and disappointed. I wouldn't have minded paying top dollar for a DELUXE lobster roll, but all I got was a hot dog roll (not toasted either which i thought was standard) a plain hot dog roll, no butter brushed on the roll and then toasted just a plain hot dog roll with chopped up lobster. They had mayo on the side with the old bay seasoning mixed in (tasted like) and it was really spicy too spicy and hot for my palette. It came with a generous size of waffle fries but for 16 dollars ? it was not worth it. I was thinking that perhaps it is just plain ignorance and they really do not know what a real "lobster roll" looks or tastes like so I recommend that Lobster House Joe's read my recommendation and either go to Chickie and Petes in Philadelphia or just go to their menu online and also look at the pictures. Chickie and Petes serves the most famous fries and Lobster Rolls and they do it right.

My Dad lives upstate and we go to a place called Pastina's once or twice a month - everytime I visit him and perhaps I got spoiled? but when I order the pasta spaghetti with shrimps and scallops, the shrimps are gigantic jumbo and the scallops look like pancakes they are so big so I guess I assumed that all places most esp. a seafood place would also give generous portions of their namesake: seafood. I ordered the Fisherman's platter that had shrimp, scallops and filet (flounder) with garlic and oil. When it came, it was delicious, but small. the filet was delicious in a butter sauce having been broiled as per my request but it was not a gigantic generous portion. It was a "civilized" portion. the shrimps were not gigantic jumbo like I am used to getting in Westchester, they were baby sized just regular, not anywhere near jumbo. Same with the scallops they were also tiny. I had linguine on the side with the garlic and oil and they put so much garlic and oil sauce in a negligible amount of spaghetti, was not a lot of spaghetti at all you could not argue that the spaghetti on the side was generous at all, it was swimming in oil I mean swimming to the point that I had to hold the spaghetti back and then pour the oil into my special filet dish that had the lips on the side. I then noticed that in the middle of this meal, I never got the Coors Light that I requested. I did not even have a glass of water. Waiter had not come by to ask if everything was OK , in fact both of my kids' soda were empty and we wanted a refill. Since the dinner was more than halfway through by now, I kindly asked my son to find the waiter and tell him to refill the sodas and give me my Coors Light which he did. Waiter came and gave me a bottle with no glass. I am a lady. I want a chilled glass so yet again after waiter sped off after having left the bottle I had to ask the bus boy to give me a chilled glass.so the service by the waiter sucked. I ate the spaghetti cause I love the garlic and oil on top but again, small portion when there is no reason...
Read moreI know many of you who have been there and are regular , what I am about to describe is normal for you because you are used to be treated that way at this place . I checked out several seafood restaurant in the area and I must say this happened to be the worst in all aspects . I arrived on hylan Blvd and notice two girls at the front with a face that is like ready to say to me why are you coming here for ? Her respond to me as I came close to the counter was " yes ". I have never been to a restaurant where the welcoming or maitre de says Yes .. I responded I like to eat and she pointed to tables by the wall and said you can sit on any one , really .... Then I get this bully who was very unfriendly who is ready to get my order with no welcoming or even thank you , so forget about manors ... . I ordered New England clams chowder and joes special . Another young friendly face bring me the soup one look at this ball and I knew trouble ,dark substances floating on the the top and clam shell inside I barely had two spoon to figure this is not what I expected . Then another girl bring the main" pan " without any warning Places the piece of wood on the table in front of me and the boiling pan on top and walks away without letting me know that this is not hot but boiling hot . When the bully came around to check on the table next to mine she looks at me and asked bluntly are you ok , I responded this is very hot she said yes they Cooke this on the stove !!!! really do I look that unrealistic for such an answer but I was trying to make a point for them to let others know prior to placing the boiling pan on the table . She walks away behind a wooden enclosure and make a mocking out of me to her co-workers about what I said to her and what was her respond , So they looked at me and a smirk on there faces . I am not the type to go around and make comments and reviews about people and places and this is my first review because not only I was so disappointed and left hungry but I left angry at the way they treat there customers...
