Amazing fast casual Turkish option that just popped up in Dumbo. They do bowls, wraps, and pita sandwiches with a good mix of proteins, veggies, toppings, and sauces. You've seen this type of restaurant before, but I want to emphasize how good all the ingredients and sauces are! Great pickled/roasted vegetable options and the chicken doner is out of this world. I loved being able to choose bulgur instead of rice when making a bowl. The world deserves more grain variety!
MeatUp is a definite step up from my (beloved) halal carts with unique Turkish touches. Given the area it's actually a good deal, especially when you consider the portions. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful. Needless to say, I'm very happy they're in the neighborhood.
One tip: get a side of protein over some bulgur or rice if you want a quick cheap...
Read moreWorth the hype. Fresh, flavorful, and fast. Dumbo’s new spot overlooking incredible views of the Brooklyn bridge/NYC skyline. This spot is def one of our new favorites & go to spot when craving some Turkish food. I grabbed a half chicken half lamb gyro bowl and was blown away—juicy, well seasoned meat and toppings that actually taste homemade. The pita wraps are just as good (and super filling) along with great vegetarian options. Everything is build your own, which makes it easy to customize. They’re generous with the portions & reasonably priced. Extremely friendly staff, clean space, and fast service. You can tell they care about their customers satisfaction & for the quality of their food. Not your typical gyro, it’s better. Definitely worth a stop, you’ll walk away impressed & probably planning...
Read moreVery good Turkish food in Dumbo at an excellent price point. The salad and spreads were fresh and flavorful. I loved the variety and ability to 'build your own' bowl with whatever you are into the mood for. I had a chicken/lamb bowl. It was so much meat I couldn't finish it all. The pickles and roasted red peppers were good accompaniments to the hummus and Tzatziki. I opted for Tahini sauce to top it all off.
Pleasant, helpful service and good beverage options made it a top notch lunch option in the area. I'll be back!
One thing, if you could offer more lowered seating, instead of the tall stools, guests would be able to see more of your exceptional view of the Brooklyn bridge.
Sorry for the messy photo, I was salivating as the bowl was made I could wait to start eating. The food here...
