I have gone to Mezcal's numerous times too many to count. Yesterday 9-10-24 I don't know what happened. The carne asada was NOT their Usual steak. It was impossible to cut and chew it was so thin. I've never seen anything like that before. My girlfriend and I sent ours back and asked for the next one to come out rare! They were willing to make us another steak. However, it was still like shoe leather. It was the thinnest steak, not fit for human consumption. We weren't going to Send it back, however, I did ask to mine wrapped up. She did the same, we were not happy. I told the waitress that the steak was hard. It was more dog food, then anything else. We weren't sending the second one back. We will pay for it. That she should let whoever does the ordering realize this is not something to serve your Customers. The waitress was extremely pleasant. This has no bearing on her. I don't know if I can blame the cook either. It was the cut of the meat that was such a disappointment twice! I've had this meal many times before. I never was disappointed. Unfortunately, this time I was am and so is my girlfriend. She Tried this for the first time and was also disappointed. Please don't attack me from my opinion of what happened over one meal. Especially Since I love Mezcal's and I love that dish. I won't order that again. There are many other things on that menu...

First of all, parking anywhere near this place is nearly impossible unless you don't mind being the 2nd or 3rd row of double-parkers and ready to move your car as soon as someone else in this busy shopping center need to move their car.
The place was not air conditioned and it was 80+ degrees.
I was in the mood for tamales and their website says they have them. Great. Except they're not on the menu. When I tried to order them I was told they've been off the menu for a while.
Their house salsa only comes in mild so I asked for some hot sause to spice it up. All they had to offer was "Tabasco." We were told by the waitress they "used to have" habanero sauce but were out of it.
Very disappointing. I've heard good things about this place and want to try again some day but...
Read moreSuper cute and quaint Mexican restaurant, they have a bonus garden out front where they have a beautiful colocasia plant that I spotted and fell in love with instantly 🤩 But back to the focal purpose of this review. The esthetics are pretty cool and rustic. Wait staff was super attentive, wasn’t crowded on an early Friday afternoon. We ordered a shrimp & chicken sizzling fajita platter, came with rice and beans on the side. The rice undercooked but they quickly replaced it with fully cooked rice immediately. My pina colada was made fresh and the portion size was appropriate, and very tasty. Dessert was the best part, my roasted bananas with ice cream was DE-LISH!! The churros were also freshly made and melted in your mouth. Decent...
