Monte Carlo Diner — Restaurant in New York

I recently visited a neighborhood diner, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend it to anyone. My experience was marred by neglectful service and clear preferential treatment towards other tables.

The server “female” greeted a table of 3 men who she clearly knew and proceeded to have their food expedited before ours consisting of two courses while we excessively waited for two sandwiches, by the time I realized they were a few bites into their burgers I proceeded to look around and hear her asking the cooks to work on our food.

Once I placed my order way ahead of the table of 3 that walked in perhaps 30 minutes after we sat, I had to wait an unreasonably long time for my food which never made it to our tables. Meanwhile, the same tables that had received preferential treatment were being served their dishes with lightning speed well into a second serving.

The neglectful service I received throughout my visit made me feel like an afterthought.

I’d hate to bring race into this but it was evident that she was under the impression we were not Hispanic granted my wife is a very white woman and I can appear very ambiguos, once I over heard her asking for them to start on our food I proceeded to speak in Spanish and the look of shock made it apparent that my suspicions were correct.

Overall, I was very disappointed with my visit to this neighborhood diner. The neglectful service and preferential treatment towards other tables left a bad taste in my mouth, and I will not be returning...

When I arrived it was packed inside meanwhile it’s very small inside the restaurant. 1: The bartender gave me and my husband two glasses of water not knowing that one glass was completely broken inside . 2: The manager takes our order and didn’t even realize herself that my glass was broken . 3: The manager which is a lady brings my husband food first and I had to wait 5 mins for my food . I get half of my food on one plate and I was waiting for my sides to come . The server asked me is everything okay and I said no I wish to get the rest of my food , ladies first . 4: I get the rest of my food and the cheese is not melted on the eggs at all , waffles was blah and dry , ham was not tasty and the bacon looked like he dropped it in a deep fryer . 5: I told the manger I didn’t like the way the food tasted plus the water glass been sitting at our table broken the whole time and instead of her asking if I wanted something else she went and grabbed my food and reached for my husbands plate of food as he was eating . She decided to take everything off the bill but because of this experience I won’t go back there

MOLDY FOOD! I wanted to love this place so bad. I've been eying it for a while. I took a leap of faith and went in. The place is really nice inside with great ambiance. The decor is nice. The menu is extensive. The prices seem a little steep for what they offer. Unfortunately there were no more than 5 of us and it took about 20 minutes just to get served water and asked what I wanted. I got the avocado toast with poached egg and bacon crumble. Upon receiving my food the color was off and there was a mountain of onions and tomatoes scattered around the plate. 3 little pieces of bread with some avocado and a small poached egg. The toast was not well seasoned (I had to add salt and pepper more than once) and it tasted kind of rancid. The bacon was old (it was a brown color and chewy). My tomatoes had mold inside. The bread was a weird olive bread and not well toasted. Upon brining this up to the waitress she just said I'm sorry about that but didn't ask if I wanted something new/ etc. I was still charged about $16 for this. I wish I spoke for myself more but my actions will speak louder because I'll...
