August 2024, I came to this restaurant often since they open this location, and they never make me disappointed. The owner is very humble and every time if I see him at the restaurant, he always comes and greet me or customers with a smile. Even there were few dishes on the menu that I didn't like but the restaurant listens to feedback and didn't stop improving the taste of dishes that had an issue. I'm very impressed how they handle the problem with love and professional.
Sushi and Ssashimi are always fresh and better quality than another place nearby. Most of the time I order Sashimi deluxe and not just the taste of fishes I also enjoy how creative of the dish they garnish and make it a piece of art.
Pork Gyoza is one of my appetizers from the kitchen favorite especially the Gyoza sauce is so delicious.
Tiger Roll is my first time trying at this place, my friend and I like it so much. It has Tuna, salmon Yellowtail, tobiko, tempura flakes, avocado wrapped in isonoyuki. Super good combination. I actually got another to go order to bring it home.
Sake: We have few bottles of Dasai sake, both dry and I love to try the nice taste of sake.
Update on Carpacio sause, I had salmon Carpacio last time and some how didn't like the sauce. This time they change few ingredients and the dish is blow my mind. Even it is complimentary, and they use tuna instead of salmon. I think it is a good idea to include this option on their menu.
Kani Salad: my easy day salad. I always order this dish when I don't know what to decide to eat.
I'm glad Mr. Sushi have location in my neighborhood. I love Japanese food and now it is walking distance from my home so this restaurant will be another place I often going. Really recommended!
February 2024, I couldn't believe this restaurant is getting busy and busier every time I visited. Kate is a great server and another waitress too (I forgot to ask her name) The restaurant get lots of attention from local people and they should hire more server on a busy day.
I love Sashimi and like to try seasonal fish (aka carte) I had Uni on rice and Shima- Aji. I'm not sure that this time of the year is Uni season or not but I just not crazy about the Uni this time at all. Last month I remembered they have choices for Uni for me to pick and I like that one better, so I have no idea what kind of Uni they gave me this time. Shima-Aji is pretty good and I like it a lot.
Display of Sashimi is different I actually like the old one, but new style is good too. Yellow tail Jalapeno is wonderful, sauce isn't too salty but without colorful mayo the dish will look more expensive. I know they love colorful decoration just sometime too much contrast color will stand out more than fish that actually should be the main thing of focusing.
Anyway, I'm glad they open this location in my neighborhood and it is walking distance.
January 2024, Very good service, very good food and fresh. The restaurant just opened in my neighborhood and I ordered for pickup before so this time I came to eat at the place. The decorations of the restaurant is very interesting. They have bowls of life fish hanging on the ceiling. Our server Kate gave us an excellent service and super...
Read moreNice enough sushi restaurant But the food was very subpar. I’ve definitely had better sushi in Williamsburg and in general.
I was confused by the quality of the fish and even some of the most basic rolls weren’t done well. Many of the rolls were stuffed with fillers.
At the end of your meal, we were asked if we wanted to save 10% off before we hand over our payment. This was confusing because really what they mean is that they’re going to give you a gift card for the next time…. It’s not a deduction on your bill in the moment but they wait at the table for you to finish your review. Smells fishy to me no pun intended.
The sushi is not that good so all of the five star reviews are people who wanted 10% off. This sushi place does not belong on the 5 star list with all of the other truly incredible dinning Places in Brooklyn. The good news is that I think they could get there if they up their customer service just slightly to be more attentive to all customers and MOST IMPORTANTLY upgrade the quality of the fish that they’re serving.
You want five stars reviews ? Then there’s an expectation for the food to be excellent or at least close to excellent. There are many restaurants on this exact street I’ve personally visited that deserve five stars for now this is not one of them based on food quality alone.
SaKe was good and so was the miso… everything else was...
Read moreMr. Sushi has become one of my favorite restaurants. The service, for starters, is impeccable: the first time I came into the joint, it was a rainy day. The hostess quickly took my umbrella from me, wrapped it up, and shrugged my wet jacket off my shoulders, placing it on a hanger at the front of the restaurant so I’d need not worry about rainwater dropping into my sushi.
After ordering, my friend and I were treated to delicious appetizers on the house. Who knew I liked tuna pizza! Not I. Good move on Mr. Sushi’s part - now I’ll HAVE to spend more money on that the next time I come in. I also received a miso soup on the house. I suppose the waitress noticed I was shivering from the rain.
The main course was fabulous. Not only was it beautifully plated, but the sushi was fresh, melt in your mouth. My friend, who had ordered the Sushi Deluxe, was treated to two speciality items for no extra charge. What a treat!
The only thing they could do better is bringing waters more quickly to the table. This gal likes to stay hydrated.
Thank you for the wonderful meal...
