We stayed here over a Saturday/Sunday while visiting our Adult Son who lives in Bed-Sty, it's about 20 minutes away, but there are not an hotels there we would consider staying in! ||This hotel was friendly and we felt secure in the hotel and on the surrounding street. The room looked like the photo with the Queen bed next to the window, which had a motor-driven blackout shade that worked well. The arrangement of the room, which also includes a folding chair was flexible and adequate. One could sit on the bench. The kitchenette with mini-fridge/microwave, tea kettle, coffee drip worked well, there was also coffee available in the lobby. |We bought a breakfast burrito from the restaurant in the lobby and it was good. The next morning when we were more familiar with the area we ate at a local coffee shop. The map provided with local places to eat needs to be updated, 7 Grain Army is no longer open. ||The bath area, which is not shown in the photo was good, privacy was adequate. The towels and soaps were fine. There are hooks along the entryway, which is where one should put their toilet kit since the bathroom has little shelf space. The room has a closet with drawers and plenty of hanging space and a one folding luggage rack. The floors are tiled, which made putting the other suitcase on the floor more acceptable. I don't like to put my suitcase on carpet in hotels as you never know what's crawling around in the carpet. ||The electric outlet situation was not all it could be. The kitchenette has an outlet, which is hard to find b/c it's black and fades into the backsplash. There is also an outlet on the empty wall, you can put your device on the folding chair or floor. If there were outlets near the bed they were hidden and we couldn't find them.||From the reviews I'd thought the room would be crowded and miniscule for two people, but it was more spacious than I'd thought. We had two small carry-on rolling bags and backpack. The bed linens were clean and fresh. This is a place with no top sheet, just a bottom sheet and a duvet. The duvet cover was just-laundered clean.||We parked our car in the iPark garage the last night. I thought the fee was reasonable and we didn't have to wait too long to get our car from the valet the next morning. ||Last year when we visited we stayed in Downtown Brooklyn and I would say this hotel is better than the Holiday Inn Express there. The rooms were more spacious and the surrounding street quieter. I gave it 4 stars because it's...
Read moreThe worse experience I have had staying at a hotel in my entire life so far. Stayed here for my sister’s wedding. Upon checking in my card was pre-authorized for the whole stay for the 2 rooms I booked. Hotel claimed that they were only able to charge me for 1 room and that my card declined for the second room. I checked my account and saw the pre-authorizations for both rooms and nothing was declined. I even called my bank to confirm the preauthorizations which they did. I ended up providing hotel with a Discover card to pay for the room hotel claimed did not go through to get keys into the room since it has been a long day of traveling. Since it was only a pre-authorization i was told it would fall off. Forward to the next day the charge went through. Tried talking to staff about it. Staff was very dismissive. Kept insisting that they did not charge me and kept pointing at their computer to show me. I told them and showed them the charge on my card that posted but again they did not care and kept saying our system showed we did not. I told them please look into this and refund me since you charged me on 2 separate cards for the same room because somewhere along the lines i was charged. We stayed for 3 nights and I repeatedly tried talking to staff on 4 separate occasions but it was the same thing. “Our system did not show you were charged twice”. Asked to speak to manager and were told manager were busy. I just filed a dispute chargeback with my bank which my bank confirmed once again the hotel did 100% charged my card and took the funds. Please see the proof i uploaded for the identical charges that posted on my Visa card that Hotel claimed they did not charge me and refused to acknowledge me showing them that they did in fact charged me and the second charge on my Discover. It is clear as day that I was double charged. My bank will 100% take care of this. Over all Great location, comfortable bed, cute hotel but staff and lack of accountability or even acknowledgement when i raised concerns is horrendous. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone unless they want thousands of dollars taken from them...
Read moreI am so hesitant to write this review because I never complained to the hotel staff; honestly, I was really spent by the second day. When I got to the hotel, my AC didn't cool my room enough and it was 1 am and I needed to get to bed asap for work the next morning. I asked for a fan which they did eventually bring, but it took about 40 min and a follow up call. I was so exhausted and over it that I didn't complain about the fact that my room was so dusty (sides of the mattress/ on the platform) and under the table/bench. The next couple of days things didn't really get better from there. The AC still didn't cool my room down enough and my bed was so uncomfortable. I asked for a bucket one day because my feet were killing me and they brought me a few small trash cans which ended up leaking all over the rug near the bed. The doors are loud and although it wasn't super loud in the hallways, ear plugs were great to have during the evening. I did not have any service in my room and the wifi kept going in and out. Streaming to chromecast on the tv never worked well. On the day before last, I did call about the wifi and they suppled a different network (that one worked, thankfully). Lastly, I lost my wallet the night before I left and in the morning when I went to the lobby to check in if anyone had turned it in, they had (yay!) but I was also really surprised that no one called me to let me know they had it. Drivers license and all were in there so they could've figured out if I was staying with them. Unless they did call and I didn't get service but no email, nothing. Put a bad taste in my mouth but again, I was so over it I didn't feel the need to complain. It's in a decent part of town and it's close enough to a train but I wouldn't stay here again. The best part about the hotel was the bar, it's beautiful and the bartenders are all...
