Our son lives nearby, we visit often, need a reasonable hotel and have stayed at the Jolie six times over 3 years. We've traveled all our lives and we're blown away by the advantages of Le Jolie. It sticks to the basics and does them well, it's reasonably priced, THERE'S FREE PARKING! And it has location, location, location. We can walk to a broad variety of Williamsburg's funky, good eating, drinking and gathering places, we can call a car to anywhere, Brooklyn and beyond. If our focus is on Manhattan, it's a short walk to the Lorimer station of the subway to Union Square (4 stops), it goes on to 8th Ave and connections to everywhere. We drove to NYC, and saw that La Guardia is a half hour drive.
Just about everything is very well done. The staff is jovial, efficient and helpful, greet us as old friends. The building is clean and well maintained, there are no odors (always a pleasant surprise, too often rooms smell of disinfectant). Good TV, solid wi fi, able to mooch a charging cable from the desk. Heavy pillows, nice (overly warm) comforter, Rooms have always been clean. The rooms are small, most views are meh, some are nice. The double panes and blinds are very effective at blocking noise and light, It's a LOT quieter than the great majority of urban hotels. There's a safe, hair dryer and iron. The standard continental breakfast is well laid out with good pastries, yoghurt, etc. And our smiling buddy Helen keeps it spotless!
The neighborhood is at the edge of a quiet residential area with old businesses and new development, it does look "Brooklyn"--scruffy, renewing...

Read moreWe stayed in Le Jolie for 8 nights. It is an awesome hotel in Williamsburg (Brooklyn) where you can find a lot of bars and restaurants around Bedford Av nearby. The neighborhood is very safe at all times. Le Jolie is located close to the L line subway train. It just takes a five minute walk from the hotel to Lorimer station. We found a very clean and well-sized room containing a flat screen TV, a hair dryer, a flat iron, a safe and a refrigerator. There are 2 bottles of free water refilled every day. You will also find shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. They even provide free post cards and stamps (if you send the cards within the US). They have a free to use PC and printer in the lobby which makes it easy to print directions and check in online. There is free WiFi as well. The complementary breakfast containes bagels, muesli, yogurt, spead, coffee, tea and a bunch of juices. If you are traveling by car you can find a parking area in front of the building. Our flight was in the evening so we were happy that there was a luckage room where our bags were stored safely while we enjoyed our last day in the city. Unfortunately, there is a bigger street next to the hotel, so it can be a little noisy at night. Maybe you want to bring some ear plugs. The staff was very kind and helpful. If you are traveling via Newark airport you can use the free air train, the NJTransit train to NY Penn station and the subway A and L lines to get to the hotel which would take arround 90 minutes. We can strongly recommend the Le Jolie hotel and we would definitely stay...
Read moreThree star hotel? NO way. It's a long flight for us every time we travel - arriving NY very early. From the first visit the staff has accommodated our needs and fatigue with amazing generosity, welcome, hospitality, and consideration. Early check-in has been permitted us even as the very professional cleaning staff hastens to clean up the rooms after a full house. As soon as humanly possible we;re in and resting. That kindness was part of the reason we stay here at every visit. Then there's immaculate cleanliness, the comfort of the room and beds, the quiet, the unusually friendly and welcoming staff… Location in Williamsburg is ideal for access to Greenpoint, Bushwick - close train (only two stops into the city), marvelous diversity of restaurants within five minutes walk. And for a morning start you can't beat the hours and quality of the continental breakfast. Ever been to a breakfast at a hotel and a half hour before closing there's one hard, dry bagel left, a half bowl of Raisin Bran, and a warm cup of yogurt? Not beautiful Hotel Jolie. Food's there 'til it closes, hot coffee, wide assortment of tea, fresh pastries, and Helen - smiling, gracious, willing to help you with whatever you're missing. Nothing new or unusual in her approach to customer service at this Hotel - the whole staff is like that - every time I've been there. Last stay I had a bunch of complicated scheduling - Ruby and Niki met every requested change with grace and patience. This is not a three star hotel - every staff member adds a new...
