In a city brimming with culinary diversity, “Na Slice” stands out as a beacon of authentic yet innovatively crafted flavors. Owned and operated by Luigi, a seasoned professional with deep roots in the Italian culinary world, this restaurant offers a refreshing take on what it means to blend tradition with innovation. Luigi, who also runs a successful company supplying authentic Italian products across the United States, brings an unparalleled level of expertise to the table, ensuring that every dish is a harmonious blend of quality and authenticity.
At a time when the word "fusion" is often overused, “Na Slice” redefines the term by skillfully merging the best of both American and Italian culinary traditions. The menu showcases a masterful approach to typically American dishes, such as their signature slice, which—while not the classic Italian pizza—exudes an unmistakable Italian soul. Each bite of their pizza delivers a balance of flavors that respects the essence of Italian craftsmanship while embracing the boldness of American cuisine.
We had the pleasure of trying several dishes, including both pizza and pasta, and each one was a testament to Luigi's ability to take the best of two cultures and create something truly special. The pasta dishes, made with high-quality ingredients sourced directly from Italy, captured the simplicity and richness of traditional Italian cooking. Meanwhile, the pizzas—crisp, flavorful, and satisfying—represented the American love for hearty, indulgent fare, but with a finesse rarely seen in typical pizzerias.
“Na Slice” is not just another fusion restaurant; it’s a celebration of culinary excellence, where the marriage of Italian authenticity and American innovation is handled with respect and artistry. Luigi’s commitment to quality and his passion for food make this restaurant a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the true potential of cross-cultural cuisine. Whether you’re an aficionado of Italian food or a lover of American classics, “Na Slice” offers an experience that transcends borders, delivering the best of both worlds without compromising the...
Read moreThis is a cool authentic Italian place in NYC. It is not as “gourmet” as Eataly and is more of a “take away” type of restaurant that resembles the American service more than the Italian one. Therefore, it is more adapted to the American taste than a traditional Italian restaurant, which is understandable as it is located in an area full of students that want food on the go. That being said, however, the most important thing, which are the ingredients, are authentic and imported from Italy. So, expect an “Italian-American” type of restaurant (e.g. you order on the counter) but with authentic Italian ingredients. This is VERY important because American ingredients are toxic. Most restaurants source them from a company called Sysco foods that uses a lot of artificial ingredients and chemicals. Flour is a good example: the American one has bleach. Concluding, if you are looking for an American experience of an Italian restaurant but with true Italian ingredients, that is a good place! However, if you are looking for a full meal, with antipasti, wine, full table service, then you should go to other types of...
Read moreI wanted to use the bathroom so I told the man behind the counter I’d buy a drink (it’s customers only) but didn’t want to take it in with me as I was alone and really had to go. He told me it was okay. So I walk to the fridge after to grab a drink and he starts yelling at me very horribly telling me now I have to buy something. I was confused because that was exactly what I was trying to do. My hand was literally on the handle. I tell him I am and he continues to yell saying I have to purchase something. Again I tell him that’s what I’m doing. I was literally going to buy a slice too but not after that. It’s just not good customer service. I don’t know if he was just a jerk or if he was having a bad day but it was not okay. I worked as a server for years and never seen anything like what I experienced today. I used to go to NA Slice all the time when I attended NYU. Disappointing that the staff has become so vile towards customers. The cashier was very nice and apologized after I paid which was very kind. Still I will not...
