A six-storey, red brick, Romanesque New York landmark, houses the Mercer Hotel, a cool but trendy downtown luxury property in SOHO, a district rooted in cast iron engineering, with excellent shopping and some of the best restaurants in town. I relished my Loft Suite with a penthouse vibe and packed with a bevy of features: high ceilings with exposed brick, open concept footprint, hardwood floors and huge arched windows affording lots of natural light. A muted color palette with modern furniture, mirrors as big as walls and living, dining and workspaces added touches of hominess to the dwelling. The bath was marbleized and outfitted with a 2 person tub and a walk-in shower. Sartianos restaurant serves modern Italian food-fare with items that range from Yellowfin Tuna Tartare to Heirloom Beets to Bomboloni. I scooped up the flavorful Octopus selection accompanied by some 'melt in your mouth' homemade Focaccia.||As a confirmed bookworm I loved the handsome library space in the lobby. Floor to ceiling mahogany bookshelves, curated weekly, are tended to much like a garden. It's was such an pleasure for me to sip a Manhattan and flip through the libraries picks. Titles range from all over the place but it is my habit to look for titles out of the ordinary. There's a book for every interest..........so forget your computer...............and pack your reading glasses.||If you yearn for a luxury Soho based hotel that is center stage to the parade of local shops............then try the ............Mercer Hotel................a stellar location &...

Location - SOHO - and lo - key vibe are all happening here. Ideal for walking through SOHO and surrounding districts. Beware - we arrived after a long flight on a Sunday evening at 10.00pm hungry and thirsty, the hotel's iconic and super trendy restaurant in the basement - The Mercer Kitchen -closed in December and the new resident, Sartiano’s ( a fine looking place ) were unable to serve us as they were closing ( despite the front desk assuring us that we would be able to eat ) which seemed a tad early for New York - right ? The hotel did offer us room service but we wanted something a little more lively after 5 hours on a crowded plane. We walked the quiet streets and found something eventually.|Two other peeves were the noise factor in the rooms - early next morning we could quite clearly hear the business call made by a booming male voice in ( presumably ) the next room and also the lack of a coffee/tea maker in the room. Usually at this level of hotel there is a Keurig/ Nespresso or similar machine. On the plus side the water and soft drinks were available in the fridge at no charge ( at least that's what it said, although I haven't checked the bill microscopically. |The front of house staff and the bell desk were all pleasant and amenable. The location is a plus, the in room stereo system ( bluetooth enabled ) sounded great and the blackout shades performed admirable.|Not sure if the nightly rate is accurate for these...

The MOST magical stay at The Mercer!! We arrived very early and without skipping a beat our room was ready for us to settle in before a day of sightseeing. When we entered the room a lovely note was on the table with fruit, wine and treats to congratulate us on our anniversary! So thoughtful! The front desk Emily, Jake and Travis are incredible and added so many personal touches to our stay. In addition Ryan who was able to snag us a reservation for dinner which we were so grateful! Hassan and Karl at the door always welcoming us back with a smile! The location is absolutely perfect, the room and amenities are top notch. The vibe is very European as the hotel is in the thick of the action we came and went so easily to drop off shopping bags or to just rest our feet from all the walking. The bonus patio was amazing for a drink, snack and some people watching! We could not have asked for a more amazing weekend to celebrate our anniversary, the details organized by the team were second to none! A very big thank you to all! If you’re looking for a cool, boutique hotel vibe with the best staff in the world, this is it! We can’t...

From the moment I arrived at The Mercer, I knew I was in for something special. The service was flawless, warm, attentive, and genuine without ever feeling overbearing. The staff went above and beyond to make every detail perfect, from check-in to departure. My room was beautifully designed, spotless, and incredibly comfortable, with every amenity thoughtfully provided. The atmosphere of the hotel is chic yet inviting, making it feel like a luxurious home away from home. Every interaction, every meal, and every moment exceeded my expectations. Without a doubt, The Mercer delivers an exceptional experience, and I can’t wait to return.

I was here with a friend for a weekend, my second stay at The Mercer, and loved everything about it again! This place is such a gem! I love the understated entrance and the reception area which is cosy and welcoming and immediately gives you the feeling of being in the coolest address in the neighbourhood! The staff is great and genuinely happy to help and the little nice touches all around (the cool toiletries, welcome amenities etc) are guarantee of luxurious and cool experience! The location is also my favourite in new york, centrally located with so many cafes and nice restaurants all around! Thanks again!

One of the best hotels in NYC. Great location. Nice rooms. Wonderful service. Is on the expensive side but is worth the price in my opinion. Employees are very helpful. Were able to clarify some questions i had over the phone before arriving. Check in process was smooth and I checked in late around 8:30pm. Did not have to wait for anything. The room was waiting for ME. been years since last time i stayed here and seems like the quality has remained the same since back then. Always nice to stay here. Great walking distance to shops and restaurants etc.
