๐ฃ Sushi 295 Mercer: A Hidden Gem in Greenwich village ๐ฃ Nestled cleverly at the name address, Sushi 295 Mercer is a delightful surprise. Itโs not easy to spot from the outside, especially for fast walkers. Once you step inside, you see a counter with just 4 chairs, but believe me - youโre in for a treat. Hereโs why Sushi 295 Mercer stands out: Quality Fish: The owner focus is on top-notch fish. For just $23, you get a generous lunch meal of twelve sashimi, along with sushi rice on the side. The fish practically melts in your mouth, with exquisite flavors. I loved the sushi rice (not many places pay particular attention to it) โ it was just the right texture, temperature, and the delicate taste โ bravo! Authentic Experience: The ambiance is cozy, not vested much in interior design โ but in the food. It feels local, fits well into the neighborhood, and the friendly staff adds to the warm atmosphere. Omakase Option: If you feel adventurous, they also have 12 pieces sushi omakase. I went for Sushi & Sashimi dinner set of 6 nigiri and 9 sashimi accompanied by a toro roll (some extra). Still remember the taste of each piece, from yellowtail to salmon to scallop to tuna to toro. Exquisite! Trust me, it is worth exploring. Whether youโre dining solo or grabbing takeout, whether youโre after exquisite sashimi or grabbing a spicy roll, Sushi 295 Mercer delivers quality sushi. Expect lines at times โword has spreading about this hidden gem! Excellent value for your...
ย ย ย Read moreCame here for date night and it was absolutely wonderful. We started with the sushi for two which was a wonderful array of nigiri that had a bit of everything. The quality of the fish was spectacular. Although the sushi for two was quite filling, we were so impressed with the quality of the sushi that we just had to have more and we decided to do the omakase as well. The selection was amazing and every single nigiri was delicious. Highly suggest calling ahead to make a reservation since it only seats four. We will definitely be coming back! We also noticed their takeout was quite popular so if you live nearby this is definitely the spot to order from. Prices are extremely reasonable and the quality really shines. The chef really provided us with a wonderful experience. Definitely worth...
ย ย ย Read moreThe restaurant was nice and clean and the staff were very friendly. The food quality was good, but the portion size was small. It's not as good as Sushi 35 West, IMO, but a good sushi restaurant overall.. I'm comparing the 2 restaurants because they are very similar in terms of their menu and their operations model. It's not a bad sushi place if you wanted some sushi in the area. The price is relatively low for a sushi restaurant that serve imported fish from Japan, like many high-end sushi restaurants that cost a lot more money (saw their shipping...
