My family and I live in the area and we had previously been coming to this bakery but stopped because we kept finding egg shells in our cakes. Just recently we decided to give this place another chance and boy did we come to regret it. We ordered a tres leches cake for 50 people, we picked a design out of the book they had because we were unable to print a picture of the one we originally wanted, and we also asked for fresh strawberries in the cake for which we paid $10 extra (it was either that or bring in our own strawberries for them to use according to the lady taking our order). The whole time the lady taking our order was just so impatient, you could literally see it all over her face. I would understand it if the place had been packed but there was literally no one else there except maybe one other person who was being helped by someone else. We set our date for pick up and I got some cookies and a slice of chocolate cake to take home. The cookies were a little too small for my taste and for $5 for a box it would’ve been nice to get more variety. The cake slice was a little dry. The real crime came when we got our cake. My parents went to pick up the cake on the agreed date and everything went smoothly but once we cut the cake it was not so smooth. The cake was supposed to be tres leches but it was so dry and somehow it was overly sweet and overly salty. Those fresh strawberries we paid $10 extra for? Nowhere to be found, only strawberry jam which we specifically said we did not want. The whole cake pretty much went in the trash because no one wanted to eat it, it was that bad. $120 in the trash, imagine how frustrating that is. I have been going to this bakery for 10+ years for all my cakes. I ordered and paid ahead of time on 07/13/2020 for a cake to be ready on 07/22/2020 at 3pm. I drove an hour in traffic and got there the day of around 4:30 only for the cake to not be ready. I asked the woman behind the counter why my daughter's cake was not ready. She rudely ignored me and turned her back to me to do this disgraceful job of decorating the cake. She would not answer me but she spoke very politely to the other customers that were speaking Spanish and waiting. It should not matter what my race is everyone deserves to be treated with the same respect and dignity. Fast forward... I was sure to drive extra careful back home only to find that the cake had a huge gaping hole on the side of it. I could not serve this cake in that condition. The writing on the cake looked awful. I got on the phone right away with the bakery only for them to place the blame on me. I ended up having to dump the cake and go to a nearby dunkin and spend more money on another cake. I am very much disgusted and upset in the services I received. All my family and friends that went to this bakery because I recommended it all agreed we all will take our business elsewhere where we would be appreciated. They just lost a bunch loyal customers. Read moreVery disappointed. I live down the block and I come to this bakery very often, almost every weekend and have noticed that sometimes the ladies behind the counter seem to be unfriendly. Today I purchased a breakfast sandwich along with other items that I didn't really want, just to fufill the 10 dollar credit card limit. They gave me my food in 3 seperate small paper bags. Had I been walking this would be fine but I was riding my skateboard and politely asked them to put all my items in one large bag. They told me I would have to pay for the bag. However I had no cash and asked if they could've added it to the credit card. The lady said no because I was already charged and refused to put my items in one bag. Again I tried to explain to her that I'm riding a skateboard and it would be difficult for me, I even told her I would come back after I get home to give her the 25 cents for the bag. She completely ignored me as if I didn't exist. Another customer seeing how rude I was being treated told "lucy" to give me the bag and she would pay for it. I thanked the stranger. There is truly no need to be so unkind to a customer who always supports your store.
