NY GRILL AND DELI — Restaurant in New York

On 8/23 at 7:05 AM, I went into this deli and ordered a breakfast sandwich. I was very clear that I wanted ketchup, black pepper, and cheddar cheese. After commuting for over an hour to work, I opened my sandwich only to find the cook had taken it upon himself to add MAYONNAISE! Something I never asked for and do not eat...I was furious and immediately called the store to express my frustration. Instead of listening, the person on the phone pretended not to understand me, put me on hold twice, and then hung up. I called back five times!!!!! And no answer. My bill was $13.98, with this nasty sandwich costing $6.50 (overpriced, by the way). I could not have possibly asked for mayo because I don’t eat it on anything. The disrespect, lack of accountability, and refusal to answer the phone is the reason I’m leaving this review. Imagine losing money and receiving no apology or acknowledgment, that’s downright rude. This deli is overpriced and unprofessional. I strongly recommend spending your money elsewhere. If I’m ever in this area again, I’ll be coming back for my $6.50, since answering a simple phone call seems to be too...

I’ve had rude experiences here before, but today was the last straw. I called to place an order and was put on hold for so long I thought I was forgotten. When I called back, the woman who answered was distracted, rude, and kept asking me to repeat myself because she was busy talking to someone else. When I asked for clarification, she snapped at me and said she wouldn’t stop her other conversation to focus on me because she had “things to do.”

I asked to speak to a manager, and she claimed she was the manager. When I asked to speak to someone above her, she hung up on me. I called back multiple times and was hung up on again. This level of disrespect and unprofessionalism is unacceptable. I won’t be ordering from...

Pure hit or miss especially when ordering online. Unfortunately, most of the time it's miss. My Orders are almost always wrong in some way. Then some of the food quality is way off - other times its pretty decent. For example: the Chicken and or Beef over Rice is at times tough/chewy and you can tell they have been sitting or refrigerated and reheated. Other times it's fairly fresh. I order for my office in Whitestone very often, but as of today I think I will stop and just go elsewhere as its not really worth the money anymore. I would recommend that they cut items from the menu and do a higher quality less volume for lunch at least. That way its more consistent. But thats just from my...
