Finese is the decriptive word for Liola. You would expect this not just in Manhattan but in Italy. The hype is well deserved. The chef is clearly Italian, it is evident in the sensability of the food. The ingredients may be known and simple but the results unexpectedly delicious and gorgeous. We came mid afternoon for appetizers. The capable server Mohammed (really) sat us by the fireplace 🔥 Perfect, we even parked in front of the restaurant (in Queens, really). I had the seared SEA scallops with an artichoke &:avacado cream. Excellent. See the photo. My wife had the Millefoglia. Spinach, artichokes, onions and potatoes with goat cheese. Very popular (thanks for the recommendation Mohammed). Unexpectedly delicious. See the photo. The minnestoni with a bit of fresh parm was also delicious. The vegetables not over cooked, the broth beautiful. Can't wait to come back for dinner.

This is a cute Italian restaurant located in Whitestone, NY. I came for lunch on a weekday and the restaurant was almost empty, but the waiter mentioned you need reservations on weekends and Friday evenings because it does get packed. The interior of the restaurant was spacious and pretty and the waiter was friendly. The food took a while to come out but it was delicious and well worth the wait. As appetizers, We had the fried calamari, which was so tender and delicious, as well salads, which were perfectly balanced. For mains, we shared the bistecca, which I highly recommend (it was well marinated and tender ribeye that had perfect balance of fat), and the margarita pizza, which was good. Prices were reasonable. Overall, I recommend this!

I was unfortunately disappointed when ordering take out from here. The salad as you can see was extremely bland & just did not taste good. Asked for the pizza well done and it def did not match. Also the ricotta tasted cold. The pasta was decent - not bad , not out of this world. I had high expectations due to ratings and the ambience of the spot was very nice but the food did not meet standards. Also not necessarily affordable so def disappointed. Maybe it was take our experience but really shouldn’t be much of a difference.

The man I spoke to when I called the order in and picked it up was friendly, but that was the only positive aspect of my experience there. I had ordered 2 orders of seafood angel hair and 1 order of shrimp scampi over linguini. We got the three orders to go. For Christmas Eve, we were looking to order seafood pasta from an Italian restaurant so we wouldn’t have to prepare the seafood and pasta ourselves. We had another place in mind, but since they were already overbooked for Christmas Eve, they weren’t taking anymore reservations or orders for take-out. This is why we decided to order from this place. $96.00 for 3 people didn’t seem too bad, but it wasn’t worth it for the quality of food we recieved. The scampi lacked garlic and it was pretty bland. Scampi is supposed to be garlicky and buttery, but this was mediocre at best. I had a problem with the seafood angel hair as well. I requested seafood angel hair with red sauce a fradiavolo and it didn’t taste like fradiavolo and the sauce was different from what pasta with seafood in red sauce fradiavolo usually tastes like and the worst part was that there was very little seafood in there. When we get seafood pasta from the other place that was overbooked for Christmas Eve, they give much more seafood with the pasta for the same price as what I paid at Liola. I only recieved about 4 muscles and a couple of shrimp. I am very disappointed...

I am an Uber eats driver, went to the restaurant to pick up one delivery order, the moment I step in the lobby of restaurant one of the workers approached me with a bad attitude never said hi or welcome, he proceeded to take the pick up order that was on the side in a table and walk towards me almost throwing me out of the restaurant, trying to give me the order outside. Saying in a very rude way that I can put my scooter outside. He gave me disgusted face and actitud. (Remember I did not even had time to say anything) and (the restaurant was empty)

His gestures, behavior and words was inhuman! I have worked in this business for many years and of one thing I leaned is that you can never treat anyone that comes to you business with this type of Behavior, no matter if he is a delivery, a costumer, the mail person or any other type of person because today I was the delivery driver but tomorrow I could be your costumer!

People needs to be treated with respect, it doesn’t matter their social class, or job tittle, respect is learned and especially in an environment like a restaurant where you provide a service to others.

I left the restaurant, disappointed because it looks pretty on the outside whoever the way I was treated does not...

We picked Liola because it was a local place that claimed to be authentic Sicilian and we are always up to try a new place. The occasion was an annual Christmas dinner date. When we arrived the host noticed I was cold and sat us next to the fire place, the music was quiet and low which allowed for a personal romantic feel. Upon being seated we were given olive oil and olive bread- the oil and olives were both imported from Sicily and you could absolutely taste the difference. The wine list was exceptional, you very rarely see such a selection of Sicilian wines, and our waiter knew the menu backwards and forwards. We ordered the baked clams and shrimp cocktail for appetizers, both were in a fantastic sauce. For Primi we received the pasta for two from the Specials, where Angelo came out and mixed the pasta in a cheese wheel right across from our table. Our meals- steak and breaded chicken were fantastic and the portions were generous. The creme brulee cheesecake was the best I have ever eaten. After our meal Angelo came out and talked to us for about 10 minutes and it was lovely to get a feel for what the Chef wants his restaurant to be. Everything was lovely, and we will...
