It’s unfortunate but I will no longer be shopping at this location and here’s why:
I went to the store on 04/02/23 to return two items that I purchased on 03/18/23. The person at the register checked the first item and immediately claimed that I had brought in the wrong receipt as the item was not on the receipt. I explained that’s impossible because I bought these two items on the same day. She proceeded to check the second item and it was indeed on the receipt but pressed on that the other item is not. She involves Paula (who I am unsure if this is a manager) and Paula offers store credit since it’s not on the receipt. I continued to stand on the truth which is I bought these two items on the same day and I simply want my money back. They proceeded to explain how to read the receipt and that is when I noticed I was instead charged twice for another item hence why this item is not reflected on the receipt. Now I’m upset because not only are you rejecting the return but I was actually charged twice for an item that costed more. Paula suggests that the only way to make it right is to check the store cameras so I tell her to go ahead. After this I notice distress in her voice and she tells me to wait a minute. After waiting, another person by the name Flor comes to address me and states that the person who checks the cameras isn’t here but to leave my phone number. She agreed that the the receipt is reflecting a double charge and that after they check the camera the store manager will call me to issue a refund. It’s now 04/14/2023 and no phone call. I’m not in a space in my life to return to the store and argue over this but it’s extremely disappointing as a customer to be led astray. I had a gut feeling that they just wanted to get me out the store and planned on dragging this out till the return deadline had been met. So this is my warning to you as the customer, keep an eye at check out to ensure that you too aren’t double charged.
As for Tjmaxx at college point, thank you for unavailing to me that shopping here is not ideal based on how customers are treated when they aren’t a consumer but...
Read moreI bought a jacket that was listed $39.00, but found the exact same jacket for $20.00 less. I asked why would they have two of the same exact jackets @ different prices. They pointed to a small little box on the tag which shows it was delivered @ another time as the lower priced one. Looking @ the tag I posted on this review, how could we even tell? I spoke to the manager Jaqueline who was kind of rude & said that they couldn’t honor the lower price: I would’ve taken the cheaper jacket but it was 2 sizes bigger than my normal fit.
he said I could either pay the higher price or leave it @ the store. I used to visit this store frequently, but now I won’t. I am deeply offended by the way I was treated.
I’m warning everyone to be careful when buying items @ this store. I will now file a complaint with the BBB & attorney general for unsavory pricing practices.
6/1/25: UPDATE: After I posted this review, I got a message from TJ Maxx to call them to discuss the situation. I called them 2 days later and they’ve explained their policies for their pricing practices & emailed me a $25 gift card which I got about an hour after my call. Even though, I’m still not very happy with what happened, I am satisfied with the way they handled my complaint, which is why I changed my rating from 1...
Read moreThis is my neighborhood store. I’m here at least twice a week. I came in the other day to exchange an item that happened to be in a target bag (as quite literally, target is one of the many other stores within the lot) so this is not by any means a red flag. I spent some time in the jewelry section then headed over to skincare which I usually do, often taking my time to browse. This trip however, it was extremely obvious that I was being profiled. One of the associates who’s typically there, a heavyset woman, came over pretending to look over the area. Shortly after, a younger sales associate came over to the hair care section and randomly began “organizing” products while shooting me glances every now and then. Being a regular of this store, it made me feel extremely uncomfortable and ruined my shopping experience. I purchase a lot from this location and it was upsetting to know I was being singled out. I was browsing the store for an item to exchange before heading to the cashier line but was made to feel as a thief in that moment. Corporate needs to instill better employee training for this portion, and unfortunately commmon sense wont be included but needs to be-especially if you’re a supervisor. Learn to...
