Water not provided! My friend and I decided to check out Omar's Mediterranean Cuisine around 5pm on a Monday. There is an air-conditioned seating area in the back, which can sit several parties. However, during our visit, I think they had an electrical overload, which caused everything to shut off for a second. That was enough to have a strong gas smell permeate the restaurant, so I was grateful we were almost done.

Water not being provided really irks me if a restaurant has a sit-down area. My friend got a chicken pita ($17.50) and I got the kaufta kabob platter with baba ganousgh and cucumber/yogurt salad ($21.50). For the amount of meat, I felt like the platter was overpriced, though I understand the location in the financial district means pricier food. That said, I really enjoyed my food. The kaufta had amazing flavor, which went well with the sides. They also gave us a complimentary baklava, which was perfectly flaky and the right amount of sweetness.

Service was okay. The staff was friendly when we ordered, and we had one check back. Since they don't provide water, I cannot comment on that. This is also a place where you have to go up to the cashier to pay, so there isn't too much the staff needs to do aside from bringing the food. Overall, I would recommend Omar's for takeout, and I will be a returning customer, as the taste is worth the...

Omar's Mediterranean Cuisine is an absolute gem! From the moment we stepped inside, we felt welcomed by the warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly staff. The restaurant has a cozy, yet elegant feel, with traditional Mediterranean decor that really sets the mood for a special dining experience.

We started with the hummus and falafel platter, and both were exceptional. The hummus was smooth, rich, and perfectly seasoned, and the falafel was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside – absolutely delicious! For the main course, I had the lamb chops, which were cooked to perfection – tender, juicy, and full of flavor. My friend opted for the seafood paella, which was a colorful, hearty dish packed with fresh shrimp, mussels, and scallops.

The service was impeccable – our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and happy to offer recommendations. The wine list featured a variety of great options that complemented our meals perfectly.

Omar’s Mediterranean Cuisine is the perfect place for anyone looking to indulge in authentic Mediterranean dishes in a relaxed and stylish environment. Whether you're visiting for a special occasion or just a casual night out, this restaurant will not disappoint. I can’t...

Absolutely delicious food! Visiting NY for the first time from Cali and just finished up a day at 9/11. We found this gem and wish we could praise the food, service and service higher than 5 stars. Had the Spicy Lamb - so juicy and flavorful! The Baba Ganoush was so yummy along with FRESH pita!! Who does that?! They do and they were warm and soft and my daughter was in heaven. Hubby had the chicken shawarma pita and said it was one of the best he’s had - ever! The Mediterranean Rice is so full of flavor and has a hint of clove to it. Excellent! If you are looking for good fresh food and nice people, please do yourself a favor and stop by for amazing food. And don’t forget to try the Baklava, it’s not too sweet and just the right amount of sweetness after a wonderful. So so good! You won’t be...

I used to go to this place to have lunch a lot during summer times, but I would never go there again. Yesterday I asked for a pita sandwich as usual, but the guy grabbed me a plate. I reconfirmed with him that I wanted a pita sandwich and he also said that is pita. So I thought maybe they changed serving way as I haven’t been there for a while and had never ordered a platter before. In the end I was charged a platter which I could not finish at all. They also tried to do that trick with my friend but luckily my friend was not tricked. I am not sure if they are doing this to East Asian people only or everyone right now. Very angry and annoyed.

Went here for the first time for lunch and it was delicious! Friendly and attentive staff and great food. I picked this place based on the Google reviews (4.8 stars not lying!) and proximity to where I was. We had the veggie combo plate: hummus, babaganoush, tabouli, falafel and it came with pita. The falafel was perfect: crunchy exterior and flavorful, moist interior. One of us had a salad with chicken kebab and the kebab was just as flavorful. We dined in and also got a complimentary piece of baklava that was also great: not too sweet, not too sticky/too much honey, buttery and flavorful! Highly highly recommend.
