Since I am a visitor to NYC, I thought I would give it a try as it was snowing. Very Poor Service I had ever experienced in a long time or should I say "No Service". It is a fast food "Self-Service" restaurant. After I seated myself, I went to the counter to order since I did not see anyone attending. I was asked to pay first when ordering and when I inserted my credit card, the options for tips were 15%, 20% or others. As I had to serve myself including pouring the water, I paid a $2 tip. When my number was called, I picked up the order myself. The food was just average as I had tried better Pho at some places including my recent visit to Las Vegas. I would not have written this review if it ended just like that. What prompted me to write was that when I was preparing to leave with my son, the girl at the counter said "Can you help me bring the tray and bowl?" I took my tray and bowl to her anyway; good thing she did not ask me to clean up the table because I would definitely have asked "why do you set up your machine for a 15% or 20% and have a tip bowl at the counter if you don't provide any service at all? Give me my tip back!" If you behave like a fast food restaurant like Burger King, do NOT ask customers nor expect...
Read moreIt’s more a take out place since inside not much seating. No table service, must pay first then dine. Pho is not quite Chinatown quality, too much soy sauce in soup and kinda salty sweet. I wud opt for raw meat because my meat was overcooked. Eating in wud be a mistake since too much of a dump inside. Window seating a bit better but always taken since there is view but mostly because there is some private space there whereas other counter seats out in open where line forms and delivery guys come and go. Haven’t tried sandwich but I think if I come again I eat outside on a mild or warm day, much better. Closest public space wud be City Hall and Pace University. I’m not sure if price is good because last time I eat at Chinatown, this was only $5. I wud think $10 now so $15 here is eh because cheapest ramen is about $20 and I think ramen wud taste better unfortunately the good ramen place nearby...
Read moreIt's been a while since I've wondered how on earth a place like this stays open, but truly how does this place stay open? As they placed the soup in front of me, what wafted towards me was not the aroma of all the wonderful spices they're supposed to use to make pho, but the distinct odor of actual garbage. The broth was watery and had no flavor. I tentatively tried to taste a piece of the beef and found it so foul I had to spit it it, which is something I have never in my life done before. I dared to try the noodles and they were undercooked and plastic-y. I see the owner responds to every negative review with things like "everyone loved it except you!" Well, please I'm begging of you, don't listen to those responses and don't waste your money here. I walked out and didn't even have to waste my money on a second lunch because I'd completely lost...
