I heard about Panda Harlem decided this would be the perfect location to celebrate one of my girlfriend’s birthdays. I visited the restaurant in August 2023. I made a reservation online, double check to ensure they accept walk ins. When we arrived there was a representative that greeted us at the door and showed us in. We then went to then confirmed our reservation and was seated. This place is beautiful with the art on the walls it’s the perfect photo op. There is an upstairs and downstairs levels and two bars Our server for the evening was very friendly and even provided recommendations for us. There is also a staff member who walks around taking pictures. You scan the QR code on the table for the menu. It didn’t take long to receive our drinks or our food. I had the Blue Hawaiian which I may say was very strong. For our meals we had the Shanghai Ribs with the shrimp fried rice and the chicken and broccoli with white rice. My girlfriend enjoyed every bite of her meal. I thought the chicken and broccoli was okay. For dessert we ordered the Tres Leche Cake in which the wrote Happy Birthday with a sparkler. The restaurant has an overall great vide and the music was really good. The only con I have is while we were eating and having a good time two different parties were seated near us and began doing hookah. I don’t care if people do hookah however, I don’t want to smell nor experience it while I’m eating. The restaurant wasn’t crowded at all so they could have put them in a different section. I was completely upset with this and when we asked our waiter about it, he informed the other sections were closed. This made us want to hurry up and leave the restaurant. Although the restaurant accepts card there is an ATM located inside. Like most places if you pay with card there is a service fee. Gratuity was automatically added to the check. This restaurant is near the water so you can get some great pics as well. It’s also accessible via public transportation. I may give them another try not so sure yet.

We were excited to try Panda Harlem, since it's a new spot in the neighborhood. The security at the door was personable, which I appreciated. The decor is great, as others have mentioned. We were only there to get a drink at the bar, and while the wait was long (on a Thursday night), the DJ was great, and the drinks themselves were pretty good. My distaste came halfway through drinking our drinks, when the bartender said our bill for the two drinks would be $43. I was honestly confused, because the menu screen behind the bar says drinks are $16. When I asked about this, because the math wasn't mathing, she said, "no, the drinks are like $17, and then there's tax." Again, even with 10% tax in NY, it doesn't add up. And why would the restaurant publish one price on their website and menu screen but charge customers something else? This is not at all about the cost of the drinks (this NYC after all). But it's very much about the shady business practices, which were disappointing and left a sour taste in my mouth. The bartender offered me a receipt, and a "I only work here, hun," which she's right about. This is a management issue. And the receipt had NO breakdown of the actual charges -- just a flat $42.52 charge. Again, it's not at all about the money. You can even choose to include gratuity for your staff. It's about transparency and integrity in the way you publish prices and charge (Harlem) people. Hard to support places that operate like this, which is disappointing.

I am terribly disappointed. I have been wanting to try this spot for a while. I made a reservation for brunch and I sat at the bar as I was waiting for the other member of my party to arrive. The bartender asked me what I wanted and I said a Bellini. She repeats the drink and walks away. I think she might have misheard me and when I see her asking her co-worker and looking on her phone I called her back over. I repeat that I would like a Bellini to which she responds Avellini. I tried explaining like a mimosa but with peach but at this point I'm annoyed. She walks away and ask the waiter for help and he proceeded to make my drink. They come back and they tell me that there was no peach nectar so they used peach schnapps. I was literally sitting within speaking distance from them they could have just asked if I wanted something else. I finally get to my table and they sat me by the window. There was a draft and I don't know if it came from the window or the way the restaurant is set up but it made it uncomfortably cold and turned my food cold. I ordered the shrimp tempura ,the chicken wonton ,the beef fried rice and, vegetable egg rolls. Not one thing was better than just edible. The food is not even passably good. Any local Asian fusion restaurant has better food. By the time I went to the bathroom and they didn't have any paper towels I was over it. The only thing good I can say about this restaurant is that there was a good RnB playlist.

My first time coming to panda and i wasn’t even able to get inside with reservations. I just came from a sweat suit cook out event. My sweat suit was more upscale than the casual old navy or gap outfit. My significant other had on a sweat suit as well which was more upscale. It was huge Guard at the door. He said “come one guys i can’t let you in like that.” I expressed i just came from an event and didn’t want to miss my Reservation. So he stood there for a minute or two and said OK let me go inside and have a conversation with my manager. maybe one minute later, he said “nope it’s a no go guys. My manager won’t let you in and if I allow you to come in, they’re going to look at me as if I should know better.” Now before he went into the establishment to speak to the so-called manager he looked at us as if we should slide him a couple of dollars to just allow us to go into the establishment. And I only say this because not even five minutes after we left my brother spoke to the manager, and he stated that he would’ve let us in with no problem. Doing further investigation I actually had family inside celebrating I loved one’s birthday. My understanding per our conversation yesterday there was a few people in there with sweatsuits on that wasn’t up to par. She also had one a hoodie and sweats and she came five minutes after I left. I’m not sure if you’re establishment or you’re so-called security picks and choose the individuals that he would allow to come and sit in your establishment but my advice, it would be smarter to have a manager at the door with the security so that individuals don’t feel as though that they are being judged or that they have to slide a couple of dollars under the table (extortion) to be able to enter a restaurant in a city i was born and raised in just up the block. I was going to come back the next day and celebrate a friends of mine birthday who was promoting on Sunday .( I was actually personally invited). , but I had to reevaluate the situation. It made me feel uncomfortable because of my Saturday experience, but looking at the pictures, you had multiple young ladies in their sweatsuits. Security stated to me on the weekend it is a different demeanor of dress code. So is it a dress code or he profiles and extort who he wants to get in? I’m stick to Jue lan and seiless. Where i feel Welcomed. Sad i cant even support a restaurant that moved into my birth place and get treated like...

Everyone like what they like regardless, but this place is in a rat in a hole beneath my taste, don’t let the art work fool you. I purchased tickets $109 for my daughter and I for the Afro Carib New Years Eve Gala 2023 in which I took it as a lost (left after 10 min to checking in our coats). The party promoter advertised as upscale and early tickets included 2hr open bar. She’s a fraud because I know what my ticket included and it said 2 hr open. When I questioned her, she says no it was the $86 tickets, I said that’s not what it said, it said early bird and that’s what I paid for and we kept going back and forth, she says if you give me $40 you and your daughter can do the open bar, I said young lady I’m old enough to be your mother and you can’t run game on a old head even though I look good for 52 and can party with the 20/30 year olds and my daughter is 30. She wasn’t thrilled that I checked her. However the main thing that threw me off was on the advertising of this fake promoter event it said no jeans sneakers or athletic wear. Get to the line you see so many young folks wearing jeans sneakers athletic wear timberlands and females looking like they just came off the street. You could count the few my age mixed with the 20/30 year olds who were dressed including my daughter and I. After waiting online in the rain then to get in it was already packed no room to dance. Ratchet females by the bar not buying drinks while people were trying to get to the bar to buy drinks. The entire event was bogus because Panda regular customers were also mixed in the event which seem confusing because it said upscale. To my understanding many of us thought this day was the entire event but it was the promoter event one of the Panda employee told me. I guess the promoter need money for her rent because she dam sure took ours and she wasn’t dressed. She had on Gucci sneakers and jeans not even looking depar for the event she promoting. Well I can definitely say this Panda Harlem does not represent my Harlem Black Peoples. They open this dump just to get our money because it’s not blacked owned that’s why it’s under that bridge in which you won’t recognize because they have no yawning with the business name, just a dam panda bear pained on a cracked wall. I guarantee this business won’t make 5yrs in my Harlem, take this dump to China town. Safe travels to those that think highly of this place , I’ve gone to better,...

From a hospitality standpoint, who answers these reviews? Because you can tell nothing will actually be taken into consideration! from your first review to present day, reviews have shot down! As someone who frequents “upscale” restaurants, yes prices are high and sometimes it isn’t enough! BUT when comparing it to other restaurants like Philippe’s or Jue Lan, this place nor Sei Less serves the same amount! since you’re advertising for family style serving, the quantity should be enough for more than 1 person. The food quality was Ok at best. since i live in the neighborhood, i was excited to come here instead of going downtown. both times, i left wishing i went downtown or somewhere else! As far as the table turn around time, this is ridiculous! 90 minutes may seem like enough time, but it isn’t. if people are still spending money, then it shouldn’t apply. whether or not it’s on your website, it’s irrelevant! this is new york! even when you make a reservation, you still wait! unless customers are idle then you don’t rush them out! i’ve never had that problem at Sei Less! so it really surprises me that you guys don’t take advantage of being the only restaurant uptown with the same type of customers! as far as your staff is concerned, the attitude is crazy! Nasty hosts, nasty wait staff! i haven’t bothered to ask for the manager but based on the reviews he seems nasty as well! i’m not sure if it’s because of the location, but if you wouldn’t hire them for Sei Less then they shouldn’t be working here! i almost feel bad for even leaving this low review but things really do have to change! because we go to sei less so much i am really rooting for this place! This place is good because of the esthetics/decorations, ambiance, drinks and music. the menu sounds great but doesn’t live up to it! season the food more, don’t just drown everything in the sauces! this week the lychee martini and the chicken satay sauce was too sweet but the chicken was bland. there wasn’t enough filet mignon and it was drowned in the sauce and the broccoli was little tiny pieces and almost none! i had more peppers than any of those! it’s only been a year! this is a great location but nothing has lasted since Hudson river cafe and it’s always been because of staff! you have so much potential with this place if you really start applying what your...
