May be a bit pretentiously out of place, and certainly over priced for the likes of Jackson Heights which remains still more grounded and home grown, despite the barrage of gentrifying businesses pushing in... and I felt this. The more "identifiable" seems to miss the "community feel" and "welcome-ness" in a township like Jackson Heights which sets a distinct backbone within the greatness of a City as vast as Gotham. ...and perhaps, quite notable to someone born and bred in Gotham..?
Despite an early 7AM hour, the breakfast sandwich did not taste or even felt fresh in-hand (more like warming light drab, not light & fluffy). 3 individual packages of milk for my young guests totaled $8 +tax (note, a whole gallon costs less than $4 at the supermarket a block over, or at the CVS and convenience store on the ajecent street corner, without tax, as a staple grocery item.)
I do recognize the staff was pleasant & friendly, yet either are unpermitted or unwilling to provide just a serving of butter to accompany a croissant order, which was no different than the aforementioned sandwich... and this was surprising, but it was early, and we'd come to partake in a quick Birthday before-school start, and it didn't feel like any kind of time to engage on the oddity.
Another positive mention is how brilliantly lit and exceptionally clean the shop is.
May have been an off day, those do happen, of course. It was early, too, but the experience left the vibe feeling sterile, a bit unwelcoming, and off putting. This is unlike the neighbourhood at large, throughout it's myriad of eateries - few which are open early like here, should also be noted. So...

Read moreParis baguette is great, the food is delicious and the bread is incredibly good. Unfortunately this time it was so uncomfortable to go buy a simple frappe. I ordered two frappes, and there was a new employee with some difficulty preparing it, suddenly one of their co-workers named Daisy, she came out and DEMANDED to the new employee to prepare well the coffee, he prepared it hot, he mentioned he just started and he’s learning how to read the tickets, and she immediately answered him “you don’t know what a frappe is? It’s iced”, she was so rude to him. Which made me realized how difficult was for her to share knowledge to him instead of being disrespectful to him. He tried again to do the coffee and she asked me what my order was just to confirm. By that moment I was already uncomfortable. She dismissed the new employee and prepared the coffees herself. What made me incredible uncomfortable is the way she was treating her co-worker, it’s uncomfortable as a customer to see there is no good internal communication between them when it’s something so simple as teaching how to do a frappe. Making a hostile environment for your employees is gonna become as a bad customer service, remember happy employees provide excellent service. You can give a feedback always on private, and in order to improve. And thank you Daisy for reminded me not everyone can be a leader and...
