Pizza Sam has been a family favorite for a few generations. If you want authentic NYC pizza, skip the new joints and chains, and go with a small business that's been around for over 50 years! Whenever I'm back in town, have to head to Jackson Heights to get some to have during my trip — and/or some to freeze and take home! Favorites include classics like cheese or pepperoni pizza, any of their baked parmigiana with spaghetti (veal cutlet, chicken, or eggplant), and zeppoles (fried dough, dusted with powdered sugar). I see that their current menu is quite extensive so am looking forward to trying something new my next trip. Employees are *always* nice. You can dine in, grab take-out, or have it delivered locally. Take either the 7 train to the 90th Street stop at Roosevelt Avenue and walk up to Northern Boulevard and 89th Street — or one of the Northern Boulevard buses.. the Q 66 stops right in front of Pizza Sam (or across the street in front of CVS, if you're coming from eastern Queens, like Corona or Flushing). To be honest, I and other New Yorkers I know now living in other states wish they'd join Goldbelly or a similar service so we could have their food shipped.

If you're ever in Jackson Heights and craving pizza done right, Pizza Sam is the move—especially on game night. I ordered a whole pie for the family during the playoffs, and trust me, they delivered more than just food—they delivered tradition. This place has been a neighborhood staple for years, and you can feel it in the way they greet you like a regular, even if it’s your first time. The grandma slices are non-negotiable—crispy, flavorful, and built with that perfect thick crust (I’m team thin crust however). Their menu is stacked with specialty pizzas you don’t usually find in the area—from Philly cheesesteak to baked ziti pies, it’s like a tour of comfort food on a crust. Bonus points for the prices—way more affordable than most spots nearby, and their website often hides a sneaky discount or two. Whether you're feeding a crowd or just hunting for a solid slice, Pizza Sam doesn’t miss.

I'm rating this place based on my own experience. I ordered 2 slices of regular pizza. They looked good and crispy but the cheese I didn't like. After chewing the bite the cheese becomes like plastic in my mouth impossible to swallow and I didn't had any drink with it that may cause that. Anything else you can get at this place I cannot comment on. The 2 photos I took are of the rubbery cheese I couldn't swallow and had to spit out. Update: thanks to owner for quick reply. I would like owner to know that what's on the photos is chewed cheese and the slices were regular slices not chicken slices. After chewing the bite and swallowing whatever I could that's what came out unswallowable out of the 2 slices.

So because the NEW OWNER (and JUST the owner the workers are always fabulous) , THE LITTLE WOMAN made me delete my original review in order to get a refund because she was clearly in the wrong and i still got charged although she clearly said i didnt, I feel compelled to let the people know how grimy she operates this beloved staple in the Jackson heights community (defiling the name of Pizza Sam), which is a shame because of the guys who work there are so sweet and does not deserve the unprofessionalism she has shown within the past couple of days. Anyways, here is my original review for you to read:

"Ever since they change owners to this little woman who has major amounts of attitude and knows nothing they are horrible. I went in to get a slice and a snapple and i used my card and they had some thing happen where the card machine had to be reset so i checked my account and it came out of my account i showed them and he said to charge it again i said fine cause i know some time duplicates erase but when i charged again it said duplicate charge and it declined. So im asking what does that mean the dude doesn't know and said charge it again but this time for a different price im like hold up wheres the manager casue i don't want to get charged duplicate for my order. And now im questioning why you charging me a different price? So a woman come in says she is the owner so im trying to talk to her and ask what all of this mean cause if its pending its coming oput unless you cancel the transaction and it said duplicate and it canceled what does that mean? or can you cancel the last transaction so it doesn't go through and i get a proof of receipt that you canceled it. The owner goes on and says oh you know everything you tell me... in the end i walked out with out my lunch and still with an 8.49 charge on my card to dispute....

I called before I got home so I could enjoy a salad after a long day working. 45 minutes later and no phone call from the delivery guy, I called the restaurant and they replied " he's been outside for 10 minutes go out now so you can catch him" I went to the door and no one was there, I called back and they said he's coming back, I waited literally not liying 10 minutes outside and no one showed up, I called again and they said " if you were paying attention to your phone you would of have your food on time" I had my phone all the time because I was really hungry and really expecting my food, when I said I didn't got any call he repeated the phone number who was wrong in one number, I correct the number and hand off to wait for my delivery guy. I waited another 10 minutes and nothing, I called back again and he yells saying "he's down the block! " I really hoped that was true and waited and waited, then I called back again because honestly it was an hour since I called for food and I wasn't really with the mood of looking for another place and wait another hour for food I really wanted my food delivered in that moment. They stop picking up my phone calls. That's it, they made me believe my food was gonna come and waited outside for nothing more than feel disrespected and got yelled by some angry dude that works in a pizza place. Too sad it happened because their...
