Ok, so this is tough for me. I have fought myself over whether to write this review because it's my favorite breakfast spot and it's usually packed in waves in the morning. I don't want my wait to be longer, since I'm normally running late lol.
Here goes.... This place looks like a little dive corner bakery. Nothing special, but always a curiously long line in the morning. They make, in my opinion, the best coffee in the neighborhood. You won't find fancy lattes or pumkin spice anything here, but simply the best Colombian coffee with the traditional boiled milk. WARNING: it's not for the weak of heart! It doesn't taste as strong as it is, which is nice for me, but it will race your heart if you aren't used to strong, espresso-like coffee. The breads 😍😍😍😍😍 a variety of traditional Colombian breads, also, the best in the area. I recommend the pan de bono, cambray, or rosca. They also have empanadas cheese filled sweet plantains, sausages and arepas of cheese or sweet corn. ALL. DELICIOUS. The prices are sooo good you could buy one of everything I mentioned and barely reach $20 They also serve lunches of rice and beans and different meats... never had them but I'm sure they are yummy. I'm more of a breakfast lady myself. In a nutshell, this is the gem of...
Read moreFriend threw the food out. My daughter liked it. Wife and I thought it was, sub par.
We ordered 2 chicken & 2 beef empanadas. Think they gave us 4 chicken.
I feel bad because I told everyone that Colombian food was amazing & been desiring a place to get a bit to eat. That's why we stopped here.
Nothing stood out as amazing. Rice was bland. Beans were not good. Worst sausage + chicharron, not bad but out of all I recall, last on list. Beef was okay. Empanadas were mediocre. Wait, eggs were good, that's it lol....... Arepa was larger than normal. So 2 pluses out of many negatives.
They were busy. Could've been a fluke or maybe people have low expectations.
Maybe their pastries are slamming, don't know, but their food, pass. Only giving 3 because daughter liked it. She was starving.
Edit: have to drop it to 2. I would never...
Read moreDepending on who makes your coffee its delicious most of the time. There empanadas and bono bread the same thing, sometimes dry empanadas with fat pieces of meat but most of the time you get the juicy shredded chicken. The bono at times taste like it has to much baking soda or powder. Its still my go to place. The winters are brutle though. I went in on Jan 2 and 3rd it was freezing in there and the employes where in coats :-(. The owner should take care of the heating system for his people. The bakery part suffers as well because the bread was hard and cold not...
