I want to say, the folks who work there, were consistently nice. I never encountered a rude person, except maybe a manager who avoided interacting with us.
The room was subpar, at best. And we were shocked by the state after reading many positive reviews both on Google and Trip Advisor. Our sheets were stained, but like with lipstick and when I requested the sheets to be changed, it was replaced by other stained sheets (see poorly lit photo). It was a tight room, which I expect being in the city BUT the glass edge to the bathroom was jagged and my husband cut his arm and I snagged a new raincoat on it (also see poorly lit photo). Finally, there were A LOT of drain flies. A LOT. So much so, that they just hung out on our drying towels, making this very unusable.
We mostly chose this hotel for being pet friendly. They told my husband we couldn't leave our dog alone at all as we initially checked in, but when I went up to the desk with their website pulled up to their pet policy where it doesn't say that, they clarified that's IF our dog becomes disruptive to others, which our dog never was. That was VERY disappointing to me, the punitive-not-written-on-their-website policy when you're checking in with a dog.
Also neighboring rooms' doors didn't have appropriate door stoppers or something to slow the slamming. There was one night where there was constant slamming of the doors until about 4:30am. Just very nosy.
Lastly, we had an emergency which cut our trip a day short and the manager couldn't be bothered to even interact with us when we checked out on Monday, it was through the front desk person who was very kind. I find that a little unprofessional, especially since we asked to speak with him a few times.

Read moreI stayed for one night and met two employees. The one that checked me in and the one that checked me out. Both were very nice.
Pros: The room was small but decent sized and modern. The bathroom appeared recently updated. Wifi had a decent signal. I was able to stream some shows without an issue.
Cons: The showerhead didn't have good pressure. There was no top sheet on the bed which I found odd.
The room was really cold and I tried adjusting the thermostat with no success. I probably should have called the front desk but it was already late and I didn't want to wait for assistance so I just put a sweatshirt on instead. I'm sure they could have fixed it but I just wanted to warn others of the weird thermostat. The setting said "68" but the room was reading at "59"
Parking: They have a small lot and charge $44 to park without in/out privileges according to the sign. The employee who checked me in said that I can come back, but that they can't guarantee a spot will be available if I leave. She then showed me the security cameras. She made it seem like they only might sell more spots than they have because the person at the front desk will check the cameras before providing the parking pass.
If you know you're leaving early in the morning, you can save the cost of parking by finding a spot on the street. Just be aware that the "no stopping or standing" on the street is daily from 7-10am. I choose the street parking route because I had to be at a meeting by 8 anyway and used it as an excuse to go find something for breakfast beforehand.
Lesson learned (not the hotel's fault): If there is a bedside clock but you use your phone's alarm, check that the clock isn't set by the previous occupant. It went...
Read moreGeneral - The staff were all very courteous and pleasant and the rooms were very clean (and looked newly renovated). I thought the style was really interesting and actually the bathroom was more spacious than I expected. The lobby is tiny, but on par with similar hotel types, and the rooms are definitely NY small - but there was still a spacious desk area and place to put my suitcase without being in the way so that was perfect. The beds are very firm and the pillows are all down or down like which I don't personally like, but some people do. The hotel was very quiet which was nice. Parking - I had a vehicle and there were literally only 10 or less parking spaces in the lot (I was lucky to get the last open one upon arrival) so be prepared to find a nearby deck because you cannot reserve them. The spaces are also small - I had a chrysler pacifica minivan and almost didn't fit in the alley accessing the lot, and it was a tight squeeze in the parking space itself. Location - I was in this area for work at Industry City, which is a comfortable 15 min walk from the Wyndham. There is roadwork and dirty/rundown stuff between the hotel and Industry City but I did not feel unsafe. It's just not a scenic walk and nothing going on until you get to IC. For the project it was great since weather was nice and the next closest hotels are not walking distance at all. Breakfast - I didn't get breakfast but it did not look worth paying for and my one real complaint is the coffee. There is not free coffee except from the in-room maker which made water flavored with coffee. If you're going to IC, there are several independent coffee shops/bakeries/etc. and a bagel shop closeby so I...
