Tacos Matamoros — Restaurant in New York

It was a horrible experience, my daughter my husband and I wanted to get some nice mexican food. My friend used to work here and she recommended the margaritas. The second we stepped into the place there is a sign that says "Please Wait To Be Seated" we waited and waiters and waitresses kept passing by us but no one asked us if we needed help (my daughter was sleeping in my husbands hands) I got tired of waiting plus the place was not that busy there were empty tables which we decided to have seat since nobody said anything. We sat down and waited even more time aproxx 15-20 give or take I was getting impatient, I raised my hand and a waiter approached our table (later I found out this gentleman was the Manager) I asked him why did it take so long ? Which he replied Sarcastically "Well, there's a sign in front that says Wait To be Seated your supposed to wait" I told him "We did wait and no body said anything" he said " yeah ok, let me get you your menus" at this point a combination of his attitude and my hunger I told him "DO NOT WORRY WE ARE GOING TO SOME OTHER PLACE" he rolled his eyes and walked away in such a disgusting way. My husband stepped out again with my daughter in his arms, I asked to speak to the manager and it was the same person who was rude to us. I can not believe that a place that has been around for such a long time has the stupid idea to hire an INCOMPETENT, LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS, MANNER AND WORK ETHICS as the Manager of the place. Truly Sad. I won't ever come back to this place and I will spread the word of how poor customer service skills they have at this place, if the manager is this RUDE TO CUSTOMERS I can't even imagine that example he is giving out to his ...

Food really hits the spot but its the waitresses that ruin your dining experience. Wish i got her name but she was such an unfortunate waiter to have. As she’s taking our order she’s looking all around, up and down, writing with the biggest frown like she’s doing us a favor. Then as i go to tell her my order she’s cutting me off telling me to wait as she’s fixing her mistakes caused by her paying attention to everything but. She was so nasty & would never come to our table. Luckily there was another waitress with glasses who was very sweet who was attending to us rather than her. We waited 20 minutes for drinks & brought out the apps with the entrees all together. At one point we ran out of salsa & flagging this girl down was a mission. It’s not like she was running around, she was just gone in the back or hiding behind the counter not wanting to deal with anyone. Just horrible service. When it came time for the check she swings it at the table and runs away. If you’re miserable just say that but please don’t take it out on the people that are paying you for a service. At least a decent service would have been nice. Despite the disaster of a service we got i still tipped generously. Would i come eat here again in person? Absolutely not. Order for pick up? That’s a no as well because dining in tastes so much different than take out. Ive always used to order take out from this place til i finally dined in & there’s a huge difference. The portions are a lot smaller when you order out. So if you can handle disgusting service give it a try but my best advice is just go across the street or basically any other taco place. I normally do not write reviews unless the it was overwhelming positive, or extremely negative. Unfortunately todays experience was the latter.

I placed a pickup order and when I had arrived 15 minutes after I placed the order, they told me it would take another 15 minutes. No problem, they were moderately busy inside, so I went down the block, had a drink at a bar and came back 30 minutes later. When I returned, they had lost(given away) my order. So I had to wait for them to remake it. When they finally gave me my order, they had given me small tacos instead of large (I know the difference) and flat out lied to my face that the guacamole was inside one of the tacos when I asked where was the large guacamole that was on the order receipt. Even worse, when I got home after I finished a chicken taco I immediately felt ill, and was in the bathroom. Assuming they rushed to cook the chicken and didnt cook it well enough.

I hope this doesnt happen to someone in the future. Will not be eating here again in the future as this was not my only negative experience. Previously I had ordered delivery and my food sat there for nearly an hour and 45 minutes as they waited for a driver. When I had called to ask if they could send me fresh food or at the the VERY LEAST, reheat my order which at that point had been sitting there for nearly an hour and a half, they very rudely refused and were not understanding to the situation. I dont know anyone who wants their food delivered cold. Please better serve your customers. They make or break...
