I’ve been an occasional customer at this store for over 10 years, and as of the last few years, this establishment’s service and food has been on the decline.
Tonight, I was hesitant to order for delivery from here because my last few experiences have been bad (really long wait times, bringing me the wrong order, delivering to the wrong address and further increasing my wait time) but I decided to because it was last minute and had a craving.
I ordered a half size chicken caesar salad at 9:34 pm. I received a call from a number I didn’t know, thinking it to be my food delivery. To my surprise, it was a random stranger explaining to me that my driver was lost and that he gave him (the stranger) my number to call me and ask for directions. I found it not only odd that the delivery driver didnt call me himself, but that he also shared my personal information with a complete stranger. I then called the store, explained that their driver needed some assistance
When my order did finally arrive (around 10:40 pm) I checked my food and my salad came with no chicken. When I called the restaurant back, the person I spoke with argued with me that I did receive a chicken caesar salad based on the receipt at the restaurant. After a short conversation, he agreed to send me a new one and I return the old one. This was at 10:54.
By 12:09, my patience (and appetite) had run thin. I called again, speaking to the same person from before, and explained that I still did not receive my correct order. He responded that his driver called me 6 times, then placed me on a brief hold, returned and confirmed my cell phone number and then said he called me 8 times. I never received a call, nor did my apartment bell ring. Growing irritated with the way the conversation was going, I requested my money back to which he agreed and said he would send it back and I return the salad.
It’s 12:38 am and I am now receiving a call that the driver is on the way.
I do not recommend this location for any delivery as the headache associated with buying food from here is not worth anyone’s...
Read moreIf I could give this establishment a zero I would but google won't let me. This place is terrible yesterday I went around 8:11pm, to Sunset Bagels to get a salad. Upon arrival I had to wait because the person at the counter was on the phone for literally 5 minutes. He didn't even say " I'm sorry just give me a moment", just continued on the phone, which I thought was very rude and inappropriate for customer service. After he got off the phone he asked me what did I want. I told him that I wanted a salad but I didn't know what toppings I asked if could go to the salad bar and place my order there. He said okay; as I was standing there no one came to me to ask what I wanted. When I said whose going to take my order the same guy in the front told me I had to go back to the register.( Why did I have to go back and forth why couldn't you just tell me that in the beginning.) After that I place my order I waited another 20 minutes; in the midst of all of this there was no one else in the store, no potential customers. When I asked what was the hold up they told me that they had deliveries but I'm the only customer in the store so how can deliveries be more important than the customer service at the actual establishment. What makes it even worse is that there were people in the front just talking not working. 20 minutes passed and its not until I started complaining, the manager came out and said oh you placed your order at 8:21; but at this point it was already 8:40 and this is when they started my salad and had the audacity to try to rush my salad because I started complaining. The customer service was terrible. They were very rude and I felt racially discriminated because when a Caucasian woman came into the store she immediately got service. Being from this neighborhood I support local business however I've noticed over the past couple months and I can tell you the quality of service has declined since it's been established little over a year ago. I will never return back don't go to Sunset bagels and their food is...
Read moreFood here is WAY too expensive. I've ordered from this spot for a long time, because they are one of the few spots open 24/7, not because I like the spot. Most of the people here are cordial, and some of them are really nice. The staff isn't my problem. These prices are absurd though. The store does alot of things as well that are just very anti customer. Examples: You can't order a burger on a bagel online. This is literally a bagel store. All the offered sandwiches should come on burgers.
Speaking of the burgers, one of the things i HATE the most is the inability to order a burger without fries. It's like the store wants you to throw 15$ on a burger and to justify that, they make you get fries.
I used to order the lox here alot, and it has always been pricey, which I can accept, because it is lox, but I have just watched the portion you get on a sandwich dwindle from like 3/4 of a ince of lox to like 2 slices of lox. Which happened while the price increased. The lox costs like 16$. It's ridiculous to pay 16$ and not get a decent portion of lox on a bagel. I've noticed many more stores doing this. I eventually had to stop getting the lox bagel, as it was horrible value.
I've even noticed the bagels themselves getting smaller, again, while prices rise.
The prices rise, the product gets worse and while the redesign of the store looks nice, I'm certain that pretty much all of your customers would've preferred that capital go into investment to keep your prices reasonable. I used to hate coming here because I knew I was being robbed blind, and i thought it would behoove you to know this as I'm sure many of your customers...
