I really was really starting to like this place. I would get my Challah bread on Fridays. Drop by other days and get pastries. However, the last few times here have been HORRIFIC! The African America girl at the counter was RUDE as heck. It felt like discrimination both times with her. Not sure if she has a jealousy/bitterness problem but holy cow. I am with a baby and she sees me standing in line and does not explain that the lines now comes from the other side of the store. I was standing there for 5 minutes and’s she didn’t say a thing. Until a lady of the demographic that they cater to walked in. And she explained where the line was… and tried to TAKE HER ORDER ROGHT BEFORE MY EYES! What the heck? You see me standing here with a child and ignore me? The first bad interaction was similar! I don’t get it. COMMUNICATE and use crowd control when operating a business people. It’s not wonder some of these reviews talk about how poor the service is. The last time I was here I sat down to eat. I started to push my baby back and forth in her stroller. STILL at my table and the bus boy took my plates away! I was not finished, I said so and yet, he I guess didn’t comprehend? And took the dang plates. Lastly, if you speak up for yourself they will have you wait an absurd amount of time for just a hot beverage. After I had ordered… The barista proceeded to wrongly make a matcha. How??? This matcha did not have the correct ratio of powder to milk. It tasted like warm oat milk. As someone who makes matcha at home. It’s not very hard to measure things out. Matcha should be a light green not white.

I've visited Patis Bakery three times, hoping for a better experience each time, but unfortunately, my recent visit compelled me to share my disappointment. On a bustling Sunday, amidst a crowd of customers, I ordered two coffees and two croissants. Despite the long 30-minute wait for my coffee, what I received was far from satisfactory. Instead of coffee, I was served two cups of water masquerading as iced coffee. When I raised my concerns, the response from the staff was dismissive, with no effort to rectify the situation. After begrudgingly returning to my table, I was met with further indignation when the staff demanded the inadequate beverages back, promptly discarding them without any attempt to salvage the situation. The replacement coffee offered no improvement, still tasting like water. After investing both time and money into multiple visits, I'm deeply disappointed by the lack of quality and service at Patis Bakery. It's truly disheartening when an establishment fails to deliver on its promises, and I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone seeking an enjoyable dining experience. EDIT: I returned to the establishment as a courtesy, but at the end of my meal, I was horrified to discover a shocking surprise hidden beneath my food—a clump of human hair, as if several strands had been ripped from someone’s head and placed on my plate. While they did refund me, the experience left me completely disgusted. They can’t justify high prices when providing low-quality service.

We just had a feast at Patis in Crown Heights and I mean a feast. I think we sampled nearly everything on the menu (for research purposes, of course 😄). The vibe? Modern and stylish. The food? Mostly excellent. The egg croissant was a highlight… buttery, flaky, and just indulgent enough to feel like brunch. The side salads were crisp, colorful, and added a lovely balance to the meal. Now, in the spirit of honesty (and so your kids don’t blame me later): the omelettes — both the regular and the kids’ version — were the only misses of the day. A little bland, a little dry… let’s just say they didn’t match the creativity of the rest of the menu. But overall? A fantastic spot in the heart of Crown Heights. Go for the ambiance, stay for the croissants and explore the menu with confidence (just maybe skip the omelette).

I was here a bit back because I heard it was a great place however once we arrived it took a long time till we finally got seated and once we got seated and we placed our order it took a significant amount of time just till I got my iced tea let alone the food I ordered. Our drinks came without straws therefore we had to ask a employee to get us straws then our sandwich and salad came out but we had no cutlery to eat our salad with and we had to ask multiple staff members to get us a simple fork and wait atleast seven minutes untill the third person we asked was finally able to get us a plastic wrapped plastic fork. The same thing with our pizza it came without anything to cut it with we had to ask again a few people so we could wait longer to get something to eat our pizza with. When we were done and wanted to pay we had to wait again over ten minutes and ask multiple staff members just to pay our bill and when someone finally came they didn’t have in the system what we had ordered we had to put it in manually again. In the middle while we were eating our table had to me moved over for some reason . The panini was excellent I would highly recommend and that pizza was pretty good would recommend however just beware ther service is way under par and you should except a...
