In May 2023, we ordered homemade roasted garlic hummus with sliced carrot, sliced celery, olive medley and toasted pita bread ($10), 16oz Kona Longboard ($8) and a 16oz Brooklyn Summer Ale ($8). Scan the QR-code, order online and pick up your order. Within 10 minutes, we collected our order. The hummus tasted excellent. We loved the green parasols and chairs. These parasols and chairs make for a very nice terrace.
The slightly sweet beers made it clear that North America is the only continent where beers with malt and yeast flavours, such as pilsners, are hard to find. Different malts, additives (such as corn or rice) and a wide range of hops and innovative approaches result in wide variety of styles and a beer list that is hard to decipher.
We enjoyed sitting under the green parasols on a sunny...
Read moreDon’t try driving here because google maps will have you MESSED UP! Other than that, it’s a really nice location, gorgeous view. Waiter sanitizes tables immediately after a party leaves. Food is pretty good! Calamari is top tier I’ve had in NY, it comes with some tomatoes and pickled onions, and a unique “marinara sauce” (Didn’t take pics😩). I had the Veggie burger which was pretty good (it’s a regular California burger) but they make it pretty good. Old bay Fries are so good too. My friends said the regular burger is delicious and lobster roll is too but that she’s had better (lobster roll). We had ice cream sandwiches which I couldn’t finish (I got the cinnamon one) and my friends got the chocolate one. I recommend sharing because it’s pretty big and very heavy (literally 2 bakery cookies with a hefty scoop of ice cream in the middle). The only thing I was not a fan of at all was the drinks. I got a Pier i Colada and it literally tasted like coconut water and pineapple juice, no alcohol taste at all- not worth the price. I had an aperol spritz too and it tasted BETTER but still not worth the price for the insignificant amount of alcohol. My friend got a small watermelon fresca and she said it was good but it was literally 8oz. for like $6. Not worth it. Would come back for calamari only and...
Read moreOne of our friend's mother wanted to celebrate her birthday at the Silent Disco Dance Party! It was our first time, but definitely not our last. We put down our deposit, got our headphones and had a blast! There were 3 different channels that you could cycle through (blue - hip hop, red - classic r&b, green - dance) to satisfy everyone's dancing feet! If you wanted to have a conversation you simply removed your headphones or turned them off. The Cafe was crowded and the take out line was long, but it moved quickly and the kids were satisfied with the chicken fingers and fries we got them. The adults were also satisfied with the margarita pitchers we got! My advice... skip the well tequila, spring for the one you like (Don Julio Blanco in our case.) Overall, the atmosphere was great, the group communion was fantastic and it just got better as nightfall approached due to the neon glow from the headphones that displayed the channel each party goer was listening to! We made some new friends, Edward, who gave me the story about how the Cafe came to be, and his lovely...
