Pio Pio 11 — Restaurant in New York

We went for dinner on 5/8th at 830pm. Only 1 server on the floor (Jorge) and 2 bus boys. The manager flirting the whole time with a blonde guest at the bar.The server needs terrific amount of training, he treats guests as high school friends and restaurant manners are poor. He brought the menu and threw it on the table, brought a can of soda without straw, we just placed it and did not opened it and served it. The other drink came to the table after the runner brought the food and we were literally looking for a server or busboys, we tried to talk to the manager but he was busy with the female guest at the bar. Nobody on the floor. The worst part was when our check had 4 extra dollars added to our dinner. They were charging 2 dollar extra per salad because of the avocado when the menu did not mention that (be careful when ordering the lunch special -14.50 - available the whole day) the check was 16 50 each lunch special. Only when I asked for the menu to verify the price and requested clarification of the bill , the server explained there was a problem with the info provided on the menu and corrected the bill The food was having low salt. They need to send this server to be trained in Northern boulevard. We never had such a horrible experience I'm none of the Pio Pio locations. NEVER. The yucca fried tasted like refrigerated old yucca. Pio pio reputation is great but this server and the busboys will push guests away. The server was setting up the tables when that is not his job (is busboys) i worked in the industry for decades and never seen this quality of service and food in Pio...

This was my first time in this Pio Pio I’ve been in others but I wanted to try this new one and I have to say I’m beyond disappointed I went so excited with my daughter and her husband and I had the most horrible experience We waited a long time for someone to take our order so finally I asked Fabiola the person who sitter us to please to take our order and she responded I’ll send a waiter We waited and waited until finally we got up paid for a sangria we have ordered and left I’ve never experienced such a thing in my life Sitting in restaurant waiting to be serve and no one buy no one came to take our order or to asked if need we needed anything Fabiola is a horrible host or waitress Whatever ever she is she should not work in place like that since she doesn’t care about the customers I’m really disappointed in that particular Pio Pio and I would definitely not recommend to any one We ended up going few blocks away to Cantù And was amazing Great food, amazing service I recommend Cantù and not Pio Pio in Metropolitan so you don’t have to be served by horrible people...

We had heard about a weekday dinner special and decided to give it a try. We had a great experience with the Pio Pio on Northern Blvd some time ago. This was closer. We arrived and were greated by the bartender who was extremely nice. We were seated nearly immediately, with only a short delay while they cleaned a recently vacated table. The interior was spacious and well done. It had a nice atmosphere. Our server came over and immediately began speaking in Spanish. I am clearly not Hispanic and gave no indication of understanding anything he was saying nor was my wife. Once we got through that, he spoke English and got our order. We both ordered the special with the upgraded water (which turned out to be Smart water in a bottle. We had a ask for glasses). Service was sporadic after that. I felt like because we didn't order the high dollar foods, we were ignored. The food was good and well priced for the special. No complaints there. However, it was not a nice experience, and I don't think we would return to...
