Hi All, Iâve been coming to this specific restaurant for years And by experience I could share some thoughts about this restaurant. Best pollos Marios of all and Iâve been to almost all in Queens This is the place where I get my Colombian fix. One of the best frijoles you can get outside colombia. Thick, creamy and flavorful, big round beans cargamanto or bola roja variety.. you donât find that quality in very many restaurants. The portions.. you better come hungry to this place, this is no French restaurant, you gotta see the chicharrĂłn they serve, that itself is a meal. My wife loves their cazuela de mariscos, I love any of the combination with chicharrĂłn and frijoles I see a lot of people order and enjoy fry fish which I still have to try Anyway, Their prices are super economical compared to many restaurants in the area and NY in general, last night diner for two: frijoles con garra for me. My wife went for arroz con pollo y entraña + two beer. all for $70 bucks !! And leftover to take home for lunch at work or calentado next day Keep in mind this is a place to seat and eat good food and go. No black aprons or fabric table cloths, the service is fast and fast they keep it. They spect you eat, enjoy and leave .. thatâs how they keep the low prices. The servers work a lot very long shifts so try to be mindful when they make a mistake, the guys in the kitchen too work hard. So tip well and have a good time I have no affiliation to this place and donât even know anyone by name I just like coming here for good fresh authentic...
Read moreI've ordered take out and sat down at this Pollo Mario and others quite a few times. Everytime I enjoy the food and service. One of my favorite things about Pollo Mario is I feel the meals are an excellent value and the portions are large. The employees are always nice and friendly - they even smile and seen happy. And during a time while most other businesses seems to be nickel and diming their customer and using inflation and covid as an excuse Pollo Mario still remains a delicious and affordable option all while remaining a delicious and almost special treat; I don't go out to eat often. I'm not sure about jackson heights but during covid the Astoria Pollo Mario was giving out meals daily and had lines wrapped around blocks to help those struggling. It's businesses like this every community needs and should support. While it's nice to see big franchises enter Jackson Heights and the surrounding areas it's places like Pollo Mario who are the...
